Each Spring the DDEC recognizes UWG faculty who have excelled in distance teaching and mentoring of fellow online faculty. The awardees are recognized at the annual Apollo Awards Luncheon and presented with the coveted Apollo trophy. Following are the criteria for 2007-2008:
- Must teach at least 2 distance (more than 50%) courses at UWG during Summer 2007, Fall 2007, or Spring 2008. At least one must be designated as a Five-Star Course .
- Must assist in delivering at least one face-to-face training session related to distance teaching sometime between July 1, 2007 and April 1, 2008. This may include workshops offered by the DDEC or other related campus workshops. Providing a 7-Minute Sizzle Talk at the monthly Apollo Luncheon also meets this criteria.
- Must post at least 25 questions or responses to the Apollo Club online faculty listserv at UWG (August 14, 2007-April 1, 2008).
