Why can't my students get in my class?
There are several possible
reasons your students may not be able to get into your class.
The first thing to be sure of is if the students have been
loaded into your class. For directions on uploading students,
please view our section on importing
students into WebCT. Once your students have been
loaded, if they continue to have problems, they may not
have their browsers properly configured. It is recommended
that users logging on for the first time review our WebCT Vital
Information page. Students may access WebCT using
their student ID, which is in the format "stu#####." They
can find their IDs here .
Passwords are, by default, the last two digits of their
birth year followed by the last four of their social security
number. Neither user IDs nor passwords contain spaces. For

Why doesn't my WebCT class roster match the information
on Banweb or Banner?
The course database cannot automatically synchronize with
the global database. The global database cannot automatically
synchronize with Banner/Banweb. Thus, when information is
changed in one, information in another is not changed until
someone performs a manual update. If your rolls don't match
up, one can manually delete or add students or re-add their

How do I allow a "guest" into my course?
Because of WebCT's "global database" format, a designer
cannot "create" a student or guest account but a designer
can "import" one that exists in the global database already. Though this is a limitation of the global database, it is
also the reason why users only need one username and one
password to get into all of their courses. If you know that a person is already in the database, you
can simply import their WebCT ID faculty WebCT ID's are based on this standard format.. First
initial + last name + D, with no spaces.

the person you wish to allow guest access who is NOT in the
global database, you'll need to e-mail distance@westga.edu
with the request. Please provide course number and name, section,
the guest's name, username desired and password desired. |
