In the event that WebCT is down...

It is the student's responsibility to:

  1. Check to make sure it is not your computer or internet connection. Try to login to another Web site and try to login to MyUWG.
  2. Do the Browser-Tuneup for WebCT 4.1 CE at http://www.webct.com/tuneup
  3. E-mail instructor with details of your problem IF problem is preventing you from completing a timed quiz/test or handing in an assignment that is due very soon.
  4. E-mail distance@westga.edu or call them at 678-839-6248 with details of your problem regardless of what it is interfering with.
  5. Phone *After-hours: Toll Free Number: 1-877-855-3238 *Service hours: Monday-Friday 9:00AM-9:00PM EST; Saturday & Sunday 12:00PM-10:00PM EST *Make sure you mention that your course is hosted on the University of West Georgia's WebCT Server at http://webct.westga.edu
  6. Try to access class again in a few hours and continue until problem is resolved.

It is the instructor's and/or West Georgia's responsibility to:

  1. Inform students of planned outages.
  2. Schedule make-up tests in the event of an unplanned outage.
  3. Provide CD of course materials for students who cannot download due to slow Internet connections.
  4. Offer assignments and tests in a suitable timeframe or medium.
