. Download the program checklist (admissions requirements) for the selected degree program.
2. Complete the online application for graduate admission. You will receive a confirmation message indicating that your application has been submitted. Applicants who choose to apply using the paper application should include the completed application form in the admission packet along with a check or money order in the amount of $30, made payable to the University of West Georgia. Choose only one method of applying. DO NOT SUBMIT BOTH APPLICATIONS. The application fee is non-refundable.

3. Prepare any additional admissions forms that may be required by the academic department as indicated on the program checklist (i.e., recommendation letters, resume, essays, narrative/personal statements, writing samples, etc.). Letters of recommendation (please use our official forms for all letters of recommendation) must arrive in sealed envelope with the reference’s signature across the back flap. If the seal is broken, the letter is unofficial and cannot be accepted.
4. Request official transcripts from each institution attended be sent directly to the Graduate School. Transcripts that are mailed to you will not be considered official if opened. Should transcripts be mailed to you, they must arrive in the Graduate School Office in a sealed envelope (do not open) for inclusion in your admission packet.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENT APPLICANTS: A Foreign Credential Evaluation for all course work (secondary and/or college/university) obtained outside of the United States by an independent credential evaluation service is required. The evaluation must be a course by course evaluation with an overall grade point average. Upon receipt of the completed application, additional information will be sent to you. Although you may use any credential evaluation agency you choose (must be accredited by the National Association of Credential Evaluators [NACES]), UWG recommends Josef Silny & Associates, Inc. or World Education Services, Inc. (WES) for this evaluation. You may contact Silny at 1-305-273-1616 or www.jsilny.com, or WES at www.wes.org.
5. Schedule a graduate entrance exam that may be required for your program. It is recommended that the exam be taken 6 weeks prior to the application deadline to insure adequate time for processing. The scores will be reported directly to the Graduate School by selecting University of West Georgia code #5900 on the exam registration menu for the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), or TOEFL. Applicants taking the Miller Analogies Test (MAT) must use code #2376. A photocopy of your personal test report may be submitted to verify that the exam has been taken; however, official test results must be received from the testing agency (e.g., Educational Testing Service, Psychological Corporation, or Graduate Management Admissions Council) before your file is considered complete.
6. International applicants should consult “Instructions for International Students” and the program checklist for documents that must be submitted.
7. All required documents, including official transcripts and letters of recommendation, should be compiled in one large envelope and mailed directly to:

8. Once admitted, you will be required to show proof of Immunization. For more information and instructions, please go to http://www.westga.edu/~health/ or call 678-839-6452. Immunization information should be sent directly to the Department of Health Services, not included with your admission packet.
9. If you have paid your $30.00 non-refundable application fee, check your application status and immunization status online! Please allow at least 5 – 7 days for processing.
