CALCULUS Early Transcendentals, Stewart
TESTS: There will be exams on Tuesday, January 28, Tuesday, February 25 , Tuesday, April 1 and Tuesday,
April 22. Each will count 100
points towards your final grade.
FINAL: The final is Friday, May 2 at 8:00-10:00.
It counts 200 points towards your final grade and will be comprehensive.
HOMEWORK: Homework will be assigned each class and
collected the following class. Each
assignment is worth 2 points. You will
lose 1 point for each day it is late.
You may count a maximum of 100 points towards your final grade.
CLASS: You are expected to attend class on a
regular basis. Occasionally, in class,
you will be given time to work on problems.
During these times, you can work with others or by yourself but you must
be working on the problems assigned and not work from other classes, homework
or talking!! Occasionally, points will
be awarded for doing work on the board based on these problems. These points will count towards you homework
score. If you do not fully participate,
you will have one homework assignment deducted from your homework score.
CALCULATORS: You are required to have a graphing
calculator. I will be using a
TI-83,
but TI-85 and TI-86 are also acceptable.
You cannot have a calculator with a CAS on it such as the TI-89
or TI-92. If you are unsure, ask me
BEFORE you show up to a test with a calculator that I will not allow!!
GRADES: Your grade will be determined based on the
following formula
TEST 400
points
FINAL 200 points
HOMEWORK 100 points
TOTAL 700 points
POINTS GRADE
630-700 A
560-629 B
490-559 C
420-489 D

There
will be no curve or extra credit assignments, so don’t ask!
