GRADING

The class will consist of a combination of lecture, demonstration and application. Final grades will be determined from three elements: exam grades and the two project grades.  Exams will primarily cover material from the textbook and guest lectures. The exams will consist of mostly objective type questions.  Students may drop their lowest exam grade. If a student misses an exam, the student may count the missed exam as the lowest grade.  If a student misses more than one exam the student may still drop only one exam grade. There will be no make-up exams.

Students are responsible for completing two projects.  The first is to prepare themselves for a competitive tournament to be held in class.  The second is to assist another person in carrying out a program designed by the student to help the other person reach an important goal.  Students are responsible for typing up a report on each project that follows guidelines handed out in class.

Exams and project reports will each count 1/3 of the final grade.
