PARAPSYCHOLOGY


Course Description:

An examination of the ways scientists and psychologists investigate unusual experiences such as telepathy, pre-cognition, psycho-kinesis, remote viewing and clairvoyance. Parapsychology’s impact on consciousness studies, research design, and medicine and healing is discussed.
 

Course Objectives:

· Demonstrate an understanding of the general areas of parapsychological phenomena
· Evaluate, compare, and contrast various approaches with the study of parapsychological events
· Articulate an understanding of the use of the scientific method of exploring parapsychological phenomena
· Articulate an understanding of qualitative research methods used in investigating parapsychological phenomena
· Demonstrate an understanding of the contributions of parapsychological research to the field of psychology
· Demonstrate the ability to apply research methods in laboratory or field setting

Course Requirements:

· Read texts and other material related to area
· Participate in laboratory and experiential exercises
· Successfully complete midterm and final examinations
· Complete a research project
