Mission Statement:
At Ryokan College, person-centered education
means encouraging human aspiration by comprehending and accepting the wants,
the needs, the desires of the students and allowing the students to have
a major role in their educational process with a focus upon their special
interests. The "interest route" is a journey along the pathways of
academia that allows for a loosening of the rigidities in learning; one
that permits flexibility and individualized opportunity, as well as responsibility
for learning. The mission of the College is to provide classroom
Bricks & Mortar programs, in supportive small group settings to prepare
adult learners for professional careers in Human Behavior, Counseling Psychology
and Clinical Psychology. The Online program will provide distance learners
the opportunity to study Clinical Psychology for their Psy.D. and M.A.
degrees. At Ryokan College, we believe that education should be an
experience that organizes and develops the individual's thought processes
through active participation in the learning exercise. Education is development
- human development.
