PeopleSoft Financials Travel & Expense Module – Approvers

This course provides approvers with information on using the Travel and Expense module of PeopleSoft V8.9. Participants will receive instruction on approving travel expense reports that have been entered into the Travel and Expense module.

Description:

ADP Managers

This course is for both bi-weekly and monthly employees (faculty and staff) who supervise and approve another employee’s (full-time, student, casual labor, etc.) timecard. This course will instruct participants on how to enter their own hours worked or exception time into the ADP eTime system. It will also provide instruction on how to approve another employee’s timecard. Participants of this course should be the supervisor for at least one other employee.

This course provides budget managers with information on using PeopleSoft Financials to run Budget Progress Reports. This training will instruct users on running their departmental budget reports that can be used for reconciling departmental budgets. Pre-registration is required so that access to the reports can be given for training.

Hear how two institutions "Give Students a Voice"

Wimba Voice is a web-based voice solution that facilitates and promotes vocal instruction, collaboration, coaching, and assessment. Reaching beyond the traditional language laboratory environment, Wimba Voice supports traditional communicative styles of language learning by giving students multiple methods of speaking, writing, and listening to foreign languages – all online. Wimba Voice incorporates the use of threaded voice boards, voice-enabled email, embedded voice within course pages, as well as live group discussions and debates, which increase the interaction and student engagement level of any online course.
We will archive the session and also be able to try the new Wimba Classroom V6 - MP4 podcasting tool for those of you who cannot attend.

The seminar series, led by George Siemens and David Cormier, is without fee and will include live interactive sessions, in addition to discussions with guest speakers and participants.

Social media and emerging technologies are gaining increased attention for use in education. The list of tools grows daily. Examples: blogs, wikis, Ning, podcasts, Facebook, Twitter, Second Life, cloud computing, surface computing, mobile learning, and so on. "Social Media: Trends and Implications for Learning" will explore the impact of new technologies, research, and related projects. What does it all mean? Do long term trends and change cycles exist in the constant change? What patterns are emerging? And, perhaps most importantly, should academics and education leaders respond? "Social Media" will explore emerging technological and related research trends from a perspective of social and networked learning theory.
