UNIVERSITY OF WEST GEORGIA eCORE STUDENTS

eCore, which is short for electronic core-curriculum, provides students with the opportunity to complete up to the first two years of a four-year degree by taking core curriculum classes online. Classes in English, Mathematics, Science, History, and the Social Sciences are designed, developed, taught and supported by faculty and staff from schools in the University System of Georgia.

eCore courses are taught completely online and require students to complete proctored exams at an approved test site convenient to them. These online core classes are a great option for those who face obstacles to taking traditional face-to-face courses and would like to start a degree program or resume their education after taking some time off. The core curriculum consists of a selection of courses required by most undergraduate degree programs in the state of Georgia. However, not all core curriculum classes for all degrees are available via eCore. Students may need to take some core classes in a traditional classroom setting.

eCore Student Advisement:

For specifics about eCore procedures, registration, etc., please contact an eCore Advisor by calling 678-839-5300. Students must be advised by the academic advisor for their major prior to registering for an eCore class. If they have not declared a major, they meet with an advisor in the EXCEL Center (678-839-6280). Only students not seeking a degree at the University of West Georgia or students with undeclared majors taking only eCore classes can seek academic advising from an eCore advisor.
