Anthropology is the study of people and culture. It seeks to produce generalizations about people, their behavior, and culture to develop an understanding of human diversity. It is a broad discipline that includes the study of existing cultures, past cultures, humans as biological organisms, and language as part of the human experience.
Possible Careers
Anthropologist, Archaeologist, Archivist, Curator, Biographer, Ethnologist, Genealogist, Librarian, Linguist, and Paleontologist are a few of the more obvious career choices. But many anthropology majors also find careers in the fields of Advertising, Art, Broadcasting and Journalism, Education, Film, Foreign Service, Health Research, Law, Medicine, Photography, Public and Social Service, Publishing, Research, Tourism and Urban Planning, to name a few.
