UWG Department of Sociology and Criminology

To be admitted into this program students must complete Core Areas A-E with a cumulative GPA (including all transfer credit) of 2.5 or better AND have earned a satisfactory grade on the Regents Reading and Essay Exams.
The Criminology program is widely conceived to include not only the study of crime and society's reaction to crime but also the areas of crime and justice that traditionally make up the disciplines of criminology and legal studies. The faculty members who specialize in Criminology represent broad and varied backgrounds in working with the criminal justice system, dealing with offenders and victims, and conducting research on a wide range of criminal justice issues.

Advising
Criminology majors are advised within the Department of Sociology and Criminology. To find out who your advisor is and how to set up an appointment, visit the main office in Pafford 217 or by calling 678-839-6505. Criminology pre-majors (those who have not finished their core and attained a GPA of 2.5 or higher) are advised within the EXCEL Center. Criminology pre-majors should visit UCC 200 or call 678-839-6280 to set up an advising appointment.
