Psychology
UWG Department of Psychology
Beginning Fall 2011: students who want to declare Psychology as a major must:
- Make a C (or better) in PSYC 1101: Introduction to General Psychology before they can take any upper level courses
- Have completed 45 hours of coursework
- Have a grade of B (or better) in any three PSYC courses
Psychology, at UWG, maintains a unique emphasis in humanistic and transpersonal psychology. The whole person is the concern. First and foremost, the department promotes understanding of oneself and others. It sees this understanding as the basis for personal growth and development, insight into psychology itself, and preparation for professional life.
