Ethnographic Field Methods
Prerequisite: ANTH 1102 or consent of instructor.
This course will investigate and evaluate qualitative analyses in ethnographic field research, including participant observation, informal interviews, the examination of emic vs. etic perspectives, the use of key informants, kinship studies, and other methodologies specific to a fieldwork situation. The course is participation-intensive and will involve research on actual field projects.
