Glenn Novak, ARFS FounderHello and welcome to the ARFS Website! We are the Association for Retired Faculty and Staff from the University of West Georgia (although you may remember your former employer as West Georgia College if you go back a few years). Thank you for looking at our Website as you decide whether or not you would like to get “reconnected” to West Georgia.

We hope that ARFS will be able to provide you an avenue to explore possible ways to remain involved with West Georgia, either in terms of actively participating in some of our meetings and annual programs, or just being able to tap into information about what is going on here and some of the benefits available to you as a retiree.

The information and the links you will find on our Website will let you know about dates of upcoming events of interest such as informal socials, the Annual Retiree Reunion, trips, parades, plays and concerts on campus, etc. You will also learn about library and parking privileges for retirees, how to stay connected with current and former employees, and about services opportunities around the campus, the Carrollton community and the wider Atlanta area. You may wish to subscribe to our listserv and to share your information and ideas with the rest of us, and you will be placed on our mailing list to receive the quarterly newsletter, The Rejuvenator. Back issues of the newsletter are available to read on this Website if you would like to know what has already been going on.

ARFS is not and never has been a vehicle for monetary or any other kind of solicitation by any office of the university or any other entity. Your names, addresses and e-mail addresses are never given to or sold to anybody. We are just a group of people who share mostly favorable recollections of the many years we have invested at West Georgia and who remain interested enough in what continues to happen there. Therefore, we have devised an informal organization that allows us to stay connected to the extent we wish.

I wish you continued good health and prosperity in your retirement years and again welcome you to the ARFS official Website. I hope you find it useful and that you will provide us with any ideas you may have to make it better and more helpful to us all.

Sincerely,

Glenn Novak
