The Rejuvenator - August 2005
Newsletter of the UWG Association of Retired Faculty & Staff, Issue 1
August 2005
Retirement Reception: Thanks to all of you who attended our first annual retirees’ reception at the Alumni House in July. We had over 100 guests and the feedback on this event has been very positive. Our steering committee worked hard to make this reception a success and we have high hopes for an even bigger and more special activity for this coming year. Our plans are to host a retirement dinner on campus sometime in April of 2006, and we will keep you updated.
ARFS Steering Committee: If you would like to be placed on our e-mail list to receive special invitations to attend meetings with those involved in the planning of events for our retiree association, please send an e-mail to Glenn Novak at gnovak@westga.edu, who will get you on our list.
Friday Socials: Let’s not wait until then to get together! Mark your calendars now and come out to one or more of the following University Club socials at the Alumni House (formerly the President’s home). These are free, casual attire events and are open to all current and retired faculty and staff of UWG. Snacks, beer, wine and soft drinks are served.
Park at the Alumni House or next door at the large Tyus parking lot and walk over on the connecting sidewalk.

Homecoming 2005: “Celebrate West Georgia Mardi Gras Style”: All retired faculty & staff and spouses are invited to attend the special President’s Breakfast on the morning of Homecoming Saturday, October 8th, starting at 9:00 a.m. at the Alumni House. Come join us, President Sethna, members of the volunteer boards, award recipients and many of our alumni (who would enjoy seeing their former professors in various states of preservation) at this continental breakfast that will precede the 10:00 a.m. viewing of the Homecoming Parade from the nearby spectator stands.
Transitions: We are sorry to report the passing of the following members of our UWG community. Many of us remember them very fondly.
