2009 Retiree Reunion: Please be sure to come to our annual Retiree Reunion at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday evening, July 11, 2009. You should have already received an invitation to this event in the mail. Remember that our annual shindig is really a reunion to get all of our retired faculty and staff back together again once a year. The additional bonus is to recognize the new crop of retirees for each year and to congratulate all of them. Last year we had a great turnout at Z-6 so we thought we would go with the same venue this year. We will have the Lower Level of Z-6 with access to the outdoor patio area. Dress is casual, and there will be plenty of complimentary food and drink (alcoholic and non). Piano entertainment will again be provided by the talented Bernie Wong, and retiree medallions will be given out to our honorees. And here is a list of them for this year:
Audrey Baird, Peggy Houston, Karen Sifton, Patsy Barr, Margaret M. Kosowski, Bonnie Stevens, Oliver L. Calvert, Tamara Lane, Mark Taylor, Mitchell H. Clifton, Ed Murphy, Mack A. Terry, Lynne Gaskin, Marion A. Odom, Pat Gaston, Gloria Reid
Please RSVP by July 6th to Dale Duffey at dduffey@westga.edu or (678) 839-6582. You are welcome to bring your spouse, friend, or significant other. We look forward to seeing you all there. If you already have a medallion, please wear it.
Monthly ARFS Programs: The dates and topics of our upcoming Thursday programs, held at 11:00 a.m. at the Neva Lomason Library in Carrollton, followed by an optional lunch at a local restaurant, are as follows:

Retiree Medallions: The Office of Development and Alumni Relations and the Association of Retired Faculty & Staff continue to make the retirement medallions available. It is never too late to place your order if you have not yet done so. This effort is an attempt to make available, free of charge, the special medallions to all faculty and staff who have retired from UWG. he medallion is bronze with the university logo on the obverse and the engraving on the reverse, and hangs from a ribbon. The engraving shows your name, department, and years of service. It is available to all who did not receive one in person at a former retiree reunion. So, if you did not order or receive one of these medallions, and you would like one as a memento of all your years of service to UWG, we have a procedure in place. Simply contact Dale Duffey at (678) 839-6582 or dduffey@westga.edu and give her your name as you would like it to appear engraved on the reverse side of the medallion, your former department or division, and your years of service. She will take it from there and will place a subsequent order and mail it to you when it comes in.
