2008-2009 Campus Center Annual ReportFY 2008-2009 Annual Report (.pdf)
During the 3rd year of operation, the Campus Center experienced a huge increase in the use of the facility. There were 5 proms in the ballroom compared to 4 the previous year. This year we saw a large increase in monthly memberships. There were 101 memberships sold in that category alone. The Campus Center saw a vast increase in large events in the ballroom from 215 the previous year to 476 this past year. Campus Recreation sent five teams to the State Flag Football Tournament with one team winning the State Championship. Campus Recreation began registering teams on-line for its competitive sports programs, and students were also able to pay using their credit cards with the help of the ITS Department. Our weekend co-ed team sport activities increased to near capacity with 10 indoor soccer teams, 11 flag football teams, 12 outdoor soccer teams and 12 softball teams. The outdoor adventure trips saw a huge increase of 45% in participation over the previous year. The Center for Student Involvement (CSI) had more registered student organizations than ever with 136 which compared to 121 the previous year. The CSI office was heavily involved with the development and facilitation of the Greek Village which will open this August. The CSI office purchased Collegiate Link, an on-line organization management program, which will allow organizations to advertise events, manage their membership and host on-line elections. The CSI staff implemented involvement panel discussions as part of Transitions Orientation. After a review of the functions of the Campus Center offices, it was decided to split the Campus Center Department into three separate departments to better serve the needs to the campus and local community. The three departments are the Center for Student Involvement, Campus Recreation and Campus Center Administration.
