The Coliseum

One of the newest public assembly facilities in the South can be found on the campus of the University of West Georgia. The Coliseum is the largest enclosed facility between Atlanta and Birmingham along the Interstate 20 corridor with a maximum capacity of 7,500 for athletic events. The facility is home to the UWG Wolves basketball and volleyball programs and the Department of Leadership and Instruction.
In addition to classes and athletic events, the Coliseum has hosted concerts, UWG and local high school graduations, UWG orientations, corporate meetings and community events. The facility has also hosted a number of special guests from the sport industry who have visited the campus to participate in the Sport Management Speaker Series.
The Coliseum is dedicated to meeting the needs of campus, local and regional communities. Through programming via academics, athletics and special events, it is our goal to help meet the physical, mental, professional development and entertainment needs of our broad constituent base. This will allow the Coliseum to be instrumental in helping the University achieve many of its strategic planning objectives.
