Biography
Dr. Thomas N. Thrasher serves as Assistant Professor of Secondary Education. Prior to joining the Department of Leadership and Instruction in 2011, he worked 38 years in Alabama public schools as a mathematics teacher or school administrator. His areas of research interest are mathematics teaching and mathematics competitions. He has served as a mathematics team coach, tournament director, or consultant since 1975. Two of his high school math teams won consecutive national championships (1978 and 1979), and his teams finished in the top 5 nationally for five consecutive years.
