Dean's Welcome

These are exciting times to be involved in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).  These disciplines have a critical impact on human lives - the practice of medicine, the production of energy, protecting the environment, and enhancing technology are but a few examples.  Because of the huge impact on the economy, the sciences and mathematics are a key part of conversations for policy makers at the federal and state levels.  Our graduates find employment in industry, government laboratories, regional schools and colleges, and many go on to attend some of the best graduate and professional programs in the nation.  Our distinguished faculty are a driving force behind their success, using innovative teaching methods in the classroom and providing opportunities for research experiences outside the classroom.

The College of Science and Mathematics fosters an academic atmosphere conducive to learning, research and scholarship. The college is dedicated to an academic curriculum that supports majors and non-majors in becoming successful professionals and well-informed citizens.
