John Randolph Fuller brings both an academic and an applied background to his scholarship in criminology. Dr. Fuller received his Bachelor of University Studies (BUS) degree from the University of New Mexico and his Masters of Science (MS) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees from the School of Criminology at Florida State University. Dr. Fuller has taught at West Georgia since 1981 and has been recognized by students as a superior teacher and advisor. In 1991 he was awarded the College of Arts and Sciences Faculty Member of the Year, and in 2001 he was given Professor of the Year Award by the Honors College.

In addition to numerous journal articles and book chapters Dr. Fuller has published Corrections, Peacemaking, and Restorative Justice: Transforming Individuals and Institutions (co-authored with Michael Braswell and Bo Lozoff), Controversial Issues in Criminology (co-edited with Eric Wakem Hickey), and Criminal Justice: A Peacemaking Perspective. Additionally he has created and maintained a website titled Peacemaking and Crime that reflects his belief in nonviolence and social justice. Dr. Fuller's most recent work is a major introduction to Criminal Justice titled Criminal Justice: Mainstream and Crosscurrents. Dr. Fuller teaches a broad range of courses in criminology and contributes to the graduate offering in the sociology graduate program. He is currently directing his interests in peacemaking criminology to the problems of terrorism. A veteran of the Vietnam War, Dr. Fuller is interested in exploring both personal and institutional strategies for the prevention and control of violence.
