FY10 Insurance Policies from DOAS
1. Automobile Physical Damage Agreement:
Provides for reimbursement of a state agency’s vehicle repair or loss due to collision or other than collision (e.g. fire, windstorm, flood, theft, vandalism) damage.
Please Note : Changes in Automobile Physical Damage Agreement –
- An auto will now be considered a total loss when the cost to repair exceeds 75% of the retail value (as established the appropriate valuation method), instead of 65%.
- The Towing and Storage Coverage Limit has been increased from $400 to $450.
- Agencies participating in CLCP will have their collision and comprehensive loss deductibles waived for a loss other than one involving a rear end collision or colliding with a fixed object, including a parked vehicle.

2. General Liability Agreement:
Provides coverage for a state employee for an alleged tort committed while acting within the scope of their official duties or employment when the employee is sued in their individual capacity outside of the Georgia Tort Claims Act.
3. Special Property All Risk Agreement:
Provides for reimbursement of a state agency’s scheduled money and securities, watercraft, fine art, transient property and non-state owned property loss due to a covered cause of loss (e.g. fire, lightning, windstorm, flood, theft, vandalism).
Please Note : Changes in Special Property All Risk Agreement –
- Money & Securities $1,0000 per occurrence deductible has been reduced to $500 for agencies participating in CLCP
- Inland Marine $1,000 per occurrence deductible has been reduced to $500 for agencies participating in CLCP
4. State Authority Operational Liability Policy:
Provides coverage for a state authority when sued in another state’s court.
5. State Owned Building and Personal Property Agreement:
Provides for reimbursement of a state agency’s building and/or personal property loss due to a covered cause of loss (e.g. fire, lightning, flood, windstorm, burglary, vandalism).
Please Note : Changes in State Owned Building and Personal Property Agreement –
- Water Damage Covered Cause of Loss provision has been revised to clarify type of losses not intended for coverage by adopting current insurance industry language
- Collapse Coverage provision has been revised to clarify intent of coverage by adopting current insurance industry language.
- Debris Removal Coverage has been broadened and coverage intent clarified to track more closely with current insurance industry language
- Extra Expense Coverage Limit has been broadened to provide a minimum limit of $50,000, up to a maximum limit equal to 15% of the total insured value reported in BLLIP at the covered loss location.
- Limited Coverage has been added for state owned vehicles (e.g. buses) and trailers suffering damage on premises due to certain covered causes of loss, subject to a $50,000 per occurrence deductible.
- The $1,500 deductibles have been reduced to $1,000 for agencies participating in CLCP.
- A Vacancy provision has been added to clarify the Agreement won’t respond to losses due to vandalism, water damage or burglary, if the building had been vacant for more than 60 consecutive days prior to the loss.
6. State Tort Claims Policy:
Provides coverage for a state agency for an alleged tort committed by a State officer or employee while acting within the scope of their official duties or employment when the claim is brought in a court of the State of Georgia.
