Purpose and Scope:

The University Safety Committee was formed in 1993. The committee consists of 13 members, and convenes at least four times per year. The primary responsibilities of the University Safety Committee are:

 


 

  1. To develop and recommend University policy relating to safety matters,

  2. To support the campus in the implementation of the various safety and health programs,

  3. To provide the President and the Assistant Director of Risk Management/ Environmental Health and Safety with the information on safety and health activities, and

  4. To develop and maintain information on safety and health as an educational resource for the University.
