Textile History Days
Have you worked in a cotton mill, hosiery mill, or apparel factory in Cedartown, Rockmart, Aragon, Bowdon or the surrounding areas?
Do you have stories to share about your employment or about living in a mill village?
Students form the Center for Public History at the University of West Georgia will be recording your stories and memories with short 15-20 minute oral history interviews and scanning photographs or documents related to the textile industry in the west Georgia region. All interviews and scanned images will be archived at the Center for Public History at the University of West Georgia for research purposes.
We will be in Cedartown on Saturday, October 6, from 9:30 am--1:00 pm, at Main Street Books (312 Main Street, Cedartown, Georgia)
We will be in Bowdon on Saturday, October 27, from, 9:30 am --1:00 pm, at location to be determined.
