Graduate assistantships in the Division of Student Affairs & Enrollment Management are available to graduate students in the College Student Affairs Program. The assistantship stipend is $800 per month, plus a waiver of tuition; some assistantships in Housing & Residence Life also include an on-campus apartment. Students are responsible for mandatory fees (approximately $1000 per semester for full-time students).
Selected applicants will be invited to campus to interview for the Graduate Program and the Graduate Assistantships.

Act as the On-Campus Outreach Programs Coordinator for the office of undergraduate admissions. Responsibilities include: coordinating the campus visit program and assisting with group tours, managing online mediums for outreach and communication to perspective students, and supervising special on-campus projects and programs designed to connect students with UWG. Candidates will also have the opportunity to be exposed to and participate in all areas of the admissions operation to understand it from both an administrative perspective and a recruitment perspective.

The Center for Diversity & Inclusion has a position for a Graduate Research Assistant for FY14 with the African-American Male Initiative (AAMI) Program. Duties include working under the Coordinator of AAMI program at UWG to enhance the effectiveness of AAMI initiatives. Duties include research into strategies that increase effectiveness of retention programs for African-American males, hands on activities related to students formerly or currently involved in AAMI programs such as the AAMI Learning Community, Black Men Encouraging Success Today (BEST) and Black Men with Initiative (BMWI) through telephone, e-mail, and personal contacts including, facilitating evening study hall sessions. The GRA is required to attend scheduled evening programs on a fairly regular basis as well as assisting with the planning and implementation of new AAMI initiatives.

Financial Aid www.westga.edu/finaid/ Assist the Director of Financial Aid in various projects including assisting with the Common Data Set, assisting in data gathering for student budgets; preparing student budgets; organizing and providing staff training modules; developing forms; and reworking the Financial Aid Website based on student and parental input. This position would assist the Financial Aid office and Enrollment Services Center in providing financial aid presentations as needed and would be involved in New Student Orientation.
First Year Experience westga.edu/orientation/ -Orientation The Graduate Assistantship for Orientation will offer the experience of planning and implementing a university-wide Orientation program. Duties will include but are not limited to: working with the Coordinator of Orientation to plan all 2012 Orientation sessions, attending logistical and academic planning meetings, reserving facilities for Orientation programs, assisting with Orientation Leader selection and training, assisting with the management of a 40-person staff and participating in team building fun!
