Dr. Sethna Award

2014 Dr. Sethna Award application - due March 28, 2014 at 5PM to the Center for Student Involvement (Campus Center 304)

Purpose:

To promote motivation, excellence and academic success throughout the student body.

Awards:

  • 1 student will receive $1000
  • 3 students will receive $500
  • 6 students will receive $250

 Requirements:

 Be it understood that the purpose of the Dr. Sethna Award is to provide financial assistance to 

10 individuals who have embodied the traits of a student who enraptures scholastic excellence 

at the University of West Georgia. Those 10 individuals must demonstrate their role here

as a student by exemplifying academic excellence and on-campus involvement. The award

will be administered once a scholastic school year to each recipient who meets the following

requirements:

  • Current Sophomore, Junior or Senior
  • Enrolled as a Full-time Student (At least 12 hours)
  • Completed Application by March 28, 2014
  • An active member of at least two student organizations, fraternity/sorority, and/or work at any on-campus location at the University of West Georgia (Advisor of your organization must sign application)
  • Two Letters of Recommendation (One must be from a professor here at University of West Georgia)
  • Not a member of SGA
  • Cannot be awarded to a student who is and has been a member of SGA within the past two years
