Parent Guide to Fraternity and Sorority life at the University of West Georgia:
Promoting Academic Excellence, Leadership, Community Service, Friendships, and Social Opportunities
Welcome Parents,
Fraternity and sorority life at UWG offers a dimension to college that is not always found in other campus organizations. Fraternities and sororities provide students with a support system that makes the campus feel more welcoming. Greek organizations offer their members scholarship programs, community service opportunities, leadership training, interpersonal development and most importantly a caring community. Fraternities and sororities are values-based organizations that allow students to develop character and integrity. The UWG Greek community is proud of its history and excited about the future growth of the system. Fraternity and sorority chapters are actively seeking new members who will positively contribute to their organization and the local and campus communities. University of West Georgia Greeks donate countless hours and raise thousands of dollars every year to benefit both local and national service and not for profit organizations. At UWG Greek Life promotes academic excellence, leadership, community service, life-long friendships, and social opportunities.
Hopefully, this website will provide some insight to the fraternity and sorority experience at the University of West Georgia.
Sincerely,
Michael Steele
