American Chemical Society-(asummit1@my.westga.edu) The Club seeks to bring students with any interest in chemistry together through academic as well as social activities. The most visible activity the club is involved in is the annual chemical demonstration show held on Mole Day where students present fun demonstration to regional high schools that have interest in the sciences. The club also meets for other events such as picnics, softball games, etc. For a small fee you acquire membership in the club as well as association and privileges with ACS.

Geosciences Club-(rlegasp1@my.westga.edu) promotes interest in geology and geography. Our club offers field trips to locate sites for mineral collecting, backpacking, and caving. We also offer lectures and talks from visiting leaders in earth sciences.
Honors Council-(cbauch1@my.westga.edu) The student governing body within the Honors College, the Honors Council, controls the budgets for all other Honors activities. Made up of students in official, elected positions, the Honors Council meets once a month; meetings are open to all Honors students.

It is an excellent opportunity to meet and network with your peers and business leaders in the community, to stay on top of current events that affect managers today, and to show a professional interest in your line of work.

This club offers students the opportunity to prepare for professionals careers. Alpha Phi Sigma is affiliated with the Academy of Criminal Justice sciences and is a member of the Association of College Honor Society. The organization promotes academic excellence through the recognition of scholarship, assisting in the development of professional and personal leadership among its members, and provide opportunities for service to community and the profession.

Beta Gamma Sigma-(fparsa@westga.edu) The invitation to membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is extended only to the academically highest 10% of second-semester juniors, 10% of seniors, and 20% of graduates of AACSBI accredited institutions. It is the highest honor the Richards College of Business can bestow. Beta Gamma Sigma candidates are presented their invitation in class during the spring semester. During the presentation/ceremony they were congratulated on behalf of the Richards College of Business for their excellent academic achievement and invited to become a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, the national scholastic honor society for outstanding students in accredited college of business.
Gamma Theta Upsilon-(sedward8@my.westga.edu) GTU teamed up with the Geosciences club to hold the Earth Day Pageant this year. Aside from the pageant we took up recyclables and had various organizations provide information on how they have attempted to make for a greener society. GTU also help out with the impact sessions by providing some geographic camps for the students. These camp included things such as: climate games and climate research skills as well as field research methods for the students to learn and use hands on. These two events took months of preparation and many forms to fill out.

National Society of Collegiate Scholars-(nscs@westga.edu) Recognizes outstanding first and second year college students with a 3.4 or higher GPA and in the top twenty percent of their class. It offers a wide variety of opportunities for involvement on the campus community, and national level. The benefits of life-time membership include recognition, access to exclusive NSCS programs, networking, and career resources opportunities to apply for scholarships, leadership development, social, and service activities on campus and Alumni programs.
Omicron Delta Epsilon-(ode.at.uwg@gmail.com) Is one of the world’s largest academic honor societies. The objectives of Omicron Delta Epsilon are recognition of scholastic attainment and the honoring of outstanding achievements in economics; the establishment of closer ties between students and faculty in economics within colleges and universities, and among colleges and universities; the publication of its official journal, The American Economist, and sponsoring of panels at professional meetings as well as the Irving Fisher and Frank W. Taussig competitions.
Omicron Delta Kappa-(alyiciar@westga.edu)
Order of Omega-(jmorrow3@my.westga.edu) Is an honor society recognizing particularly meritorious men and women in the undergraduate Greek community. The Order of Omega was established in Fall 1959 at the University of Miami. It sought to differentiate itself from the long-standing Greek honors society of Phi Beta Kappa by emphasizing community service and inter-Greek communication over academic and nominal honors. As an honor society, the Order explicitly restricts its members to academically and socially outstanding undergraduates. It requires upperclassmen status (3rd or 4th year at most universities) full-time attendance as a student, and a GPA higher than the all-Greek average at the campus in question as minimum standards. The executive board of the individual chapter is empowered to make further decisions as to the merit of an applicant and initiate them into the Order, base on six criteria surveying characters, service to the Greek community, and service to the university community as a whole. In any case, no more than 3% of all eligible Greeks-or fifteen persons if there are fewer than 500 Greeks at a particular institution-may be admitted in an academic year.

The Gamma Delta chapter of Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity enlists the best and brightest students on the West Georgia campus. We sponsor events that encourage discovery, diversity, scholarship, service, and brotherhood amongst our campus and local community.

Amnesty International-(uwg.amnesty@gmail.com) Is a group of students uniting to protect and fight for human rights around the world. As the student branch of Amnesty International, we strive to create awareness, and encourage political action and movement to better the world by focusing on human rights campaigns. We help stop human rights abuse by mobilizing the UWG community to put pressure on their government and political groups.
Caribbean Student Association-(leandraparks@gmail.com) To provide both native and Caribbean students at the University of West Georgia with the opportunity to exchange cultural & social ideas, as well as to aid Caribbean Students in gaining a better understanding of American culture at UWG and the community at large.

Its main goals and purpose are to learn more about the lifestyle and culture of the United States as well as other countries, to inform other people about various cultures all over the world and to host the annual International Night. The club is open to all international students as well as any students or faculty members of UWG interested in carrying out its goals and purposes.
Lambda-(lambda@westga.edu) Is UWG’s gay-straight alliance. We support GLBTQ1 people, allies, and welcome to our meetings & events all members of the community. We work as an activist and social organization with weekly meetings and a multitude and variety of other activities. Coming out in Lambda is safe and confidential.
Latino Cultural Society-(latino@westga.edu) Is an official student organization that embrace the diversity of the Latin American culture including the people, customer, places, music, and dances. We strongly believe in reaching out to younger individuals and participate in various community service projects to enhance the awareness of the Latin people. In addition, we hold events for local UWG students who would like to practice Spanish through the use of games, conversation, and socials. We are proud of our heritage and invite all people to join, even non Latinos are welcome into our culture.

STAND-(uwg.STAND@gmail.com) Members in the chapter organize and educate their peers and communities advocate to their elected officials for substantial legislative action, divest their schools, cities, states, fundraiser for civilian protection in Darfus conflict affected regions around the world. Our main goal is to work towards the prevention and cure of genocide.

SCEC is the largest international organization dedicated to improving educational outcomes for individuals with exceptionalities, student with disabilities and/or the gifted. SCEC advocates for appropriate governmental policies, sets professional standards, provide continued professional development, advocates for newly and historically underserved individuals with exceptionalities and helps professionals obtain resources necessary for effective professional practice.
Student Nurses Association-(mhartma1@my.westga.edu) SNA is an organization that meets regularly to promote student needs that may be present, and to meet those needs whenever possible. SNA is affiliate of the National Student Nurses Association, the largest independent health professional organization in the country and the national organization for nursing students. Any student in a state-approved nursing education program or any RN who is enrolled in a baccalaureate nursing program is eligible for membership In NSNA. Membership offers many benefits including scholarship and loan opportunities, reduced malpractice rates, career planning assistance, a material convention, reduced rates, and discounts on study materials, as well as opportunities to meet and network with other nursing students and health care facilities.

Envy-(dancingenvy@gmail.com) Is formerly known as the West Georgia Dance Team is a dedicated and skilled group of students who represent the university in a positive and spirited manner through dance. The team is comprised of students with individual dance backgrounds, but all have the same love and passion for dancing. As a member, they have the opportunity to perform at all men’s home basketball games, events, and other various school functions. During the school year, the team practices two to three times a week to prepare for games and other events. Basketball games allow the team to perform 3 to 5 minute routines at half time. UWG Envy focuses on how well they execute choreography while still maintaining their own individual style, and encourages any UWG students to join if they truly love to dance.

Becoming increasingly perturbed by the amount of litter on the sides of the roads here in Carrollton, I decided a common place needed to be established for people to come together to clean up our town! Hearing others express a similar desire, the idea for Love Not Litter was born. It is to be a place where people can plan times/locations etc….for “Lugging Litter” without having to feel awkward stopping to pick up trash by themselves. The main idea is that by taking care of our environment we will take better care of each other! Theta Delta has tapped and initiated over 55 members and is a growing chapter of Rho Lambda. The Greek letters RHO LAMBDA stand for PANHELLENIC LEADERSHIP, respectively. The purpose of Rho Lambda is to honor those women within the sorority community who have exhibited the highest qualities of leadership and service to their Greek Community and their sorority. They are women who have furthered the ideals and principles of the Greek community throughout their years of sorority affilitation.

SIFE is funded by financial contributions from corporations, entrepreneurs, foundations, government agencies, and individuals. Working in partnership with business and higher education, SIFE establishes student teams on university campuses. These teams are led by faculty advisors and they are challenged to develop community outreach projects that reach SIFE’s five educational topics: Market Economics, Success Skills, Entrepreneurship, and Financial Literacy.

We will provide educational events that will help students understands “Podoconiosis.” We will also volunteer and help the community by giving back.
Dry Tears-(zyasson1@my.westga.edu) This is a campaign of hope. This is a campaign of life. Dry Tears is a nonprofit organization that was started by 5 High School guys out of Dallas, GA 2006. Through donations and selling t-shirts bracelets and water bottles, Dry Tears uses 100% of profits to dry wells in Africa.

Black Student Alliance-(dwhite10@my.westga.edu) Is a social organization in which we organize social, academic, and community service opportunities for student at the University of West Georgia.
Commuter Student Association-(commuter@westga.edu) The Commuter Student Association (CSA) is brand new to UWG and we are looking for new and enthusiastic members! CSA is a network of students which connects commuters to each other and to UWG by encouraging campus involvement among commuters. Our goal is to develop a sense of community among all commuter students. CSA is a great way to get involved and offers many benefits and leadership opportunities for its members. We sponsor events and programs throughout the year that will help connect you with other UWG students, faculty, & staff. CSA can easily fit into your calendar because the meetings and events are planned to fit your commuter schedule.

Student Activities Council-(stuacts@westga.edu) Is a student organization whose purpose is to provide co-curricular activities for the West Georgia community. Our mission is to provide a number of diverse cultural, recreational, social, educational, and entertainment programs, and is implemented through seven program committees. These committees are: Special Presentations, Publicity, Public Relations, Live Entertainment, Multicultural, Novelty, and University Traditions. The president, vice presidents of recruitment and finance, secretary and chair people create the “Executive Board.” Together, the chair people and their committee members are responsible for planning and producing a variety of events. SAC is funded by the students of West Georgia through a portion of their activity fee that is allocated to us.

This organization promotes personal, educational, and career development and encourages giving back to the community through volunteerism and mentoring. Open to all who wish to join.
Alpha Gamma Delta-(eholcom1@my.westga.edu) Is a social Panhellenic Greek sorority founded at Syracuse University in 1904. Alpha Gamma Delta later came to University of West Georgia in 1971 and has been going strong since. We are a strong close knit group of women who love hanging out together and helping out in the community. Alpha Gam is well represented on the West Georgia campus through various student organizations such as Campus Outreach, Student Activities Council, and Orientation Leaders. We pride ourselves in being classy, well-rounded, loving women who strive to make the most of their college experience.
Alpha Phi Alpha-(tvance1@my.westga.edu) Is the first intercollegiate fraternity established by African Americans. Founded on December 4, 1906, on the campus of Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, Alpha Phi Alpha has initiated over 175,000 men into the organization and has been open to men of all races since 1940. The fraternity utilizes motifs and artifacts from Ancient Egypt to represent the organization and preserves its archives at the Moorland-Spingarn Research Center. Alpha Phi Alpha evolved into a primarily service organization and has provided leadership and service during the Great Depression, World Wars, Civil Rights Movements, and addresses social issues such as apartheid, Aids, urban housing, and other economic, cultural, and political issues affecting people of color. The Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial and World Policy Council are programs of Alpha Phi Alpha, and the fraternity jointly leads philanthropic programming initiatives with March of Dimes, Head Start, Boy Scouts of America, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America.
Alpha Tau Omega-(cdriese1@my.westga.edu) Is a brotherhood based upon external and immutable principles. Leadership fraternity formed to bring unity to the North and South after the Civil War.
Alpha Xi Delta-(awade4@my.westga.edu) Inspires women to realize their potential through sisterhood, leadership, knowledge, and service.
Chi Omega-(wmccall1@my.westga.edu) Was founded on April 5, 1895 at the University of Arkansas. It is based on six purposes: sisterhood, career & personal development, community service, scholarship, campus involvement, and friendship &social. Chi Omega is the 2nd largest women’s organization
Chi Phi-(lee.mangum@gmail.com) Is the oldest social fraternity in the nation. The Alpha Zeta chapter has operated continuously on the campus of West Georgia for 35 years. The Alpha Zeta Alumni Association consist of 600 active alumni who contribute to the chapter.
Delta Chi-(acooper6@my.westga.edu) Is a social green fraternity that pursues scholars, athletes, and gentlemen. Originally started as a law fraternity, Delta Chi now accepts any male with good moral standards. Our mission statement comes from our preamble “Promote friendship, develop character, and advance justice.”
Delta Delta Delta-(sdavis11@my.westga.edu) Was founded at West GA in 1971. The pearl is the jewel of Tri Delta. The pansy is the flower of Delta Delta Delta. Tri Delta’s colors are silver, gold, and blue. Our motto, “Let us steadfastly love one another,” has served to guide all that we as Tri Deltas strive to do within our chapter community and campus. Tri Delta is a lifetime of sisterhood, friendship, and love that can never be replaced or forgotten.
Greek Council-(ebunn1@my.westga.edu) The University of West Georgia’s social Greek Council is the umbrella student organization that provides a forum atmosphere to hear issues that face the entire Greek community. They pursue the interest of the entire Greek community and not just that of individual governing council. The Greek Council will consist of a selected group of Greek leaders (based on application and interview) that implement and facilitate monthly meetings on social Greek related topics for the purpose of networking between and among organizations and councils. In addition, the Greek Council plans and coordinates the following events; Greek Week and Video Night; including the organization of committees and follow-thru of all events related to both major events. The Greek Council makes suggestions to governing councils on topics related to academics, recruitment, and retention of new members, Greek housing and special programs. A representative from each Greek organization will be selected to serve as a member of the 22 member board.
Inter-Fraternity Council-(jgonsal1@my.westga.edu) In joining a fraternity, you become a member of the fraternity system, a system which encompasses all nine of UWG’s National Interfraternity Conference fraternities and everyone on the system’s 300 plus members. Nearly 13% of West Georgia’s university men are part of the Interfraternity Council system, working together on philanthropic projects, and all kinds of activities. The Interfraternity Council provides many opportunities for involvement in campus life and the Greek system outside your individual fraternity.
Iota Phi Theta-(abarnes4@my.westga.edu) Is a fraternity that will bring the true meaning of Greek life to the University of West Georgia. Although being new to the campus, the fraternity will continue to grow because of those students who are not following the crowd. This fraternity believes in individuality. We want real men who have good grades and are business-oriented. Like our motto, “Building a Tradition, Not Resting Upon One.” We are building at West GA.
Kappa Alpha Order-(mhunter2@my.westga.edu) Was founded in 1865 at Washington& Lee University. With 128 chapters & 141,000 initiated members, KA continues to be a leader among fraternities. With our spiritual founder, Robert E. Lee, we live up to the highest ideals & morals that we are based upon. KA here at West Georgia is a truly close-knit brotherhood in which we have a great deal of pride to be a KA & are honored to wear the letters.
Kappa Alpha Psi-(dtroutm1@my.westga.edu) Membership is a solemn commitment. To this fraternity, the maker of the commitment becomes synonymous with the commitment itself. Membership is Kappa Alpha Psi is a lifelong dedication to the ideals and lofty purposes of Kappa Alpha Psi, which considers for membership only those aspirants whose personal, social, and academic qualifications are acceptable to both the college and fraternity.

We focus highly on academics and have very strong morals and values. We are very active on campus and share a sisterly bond that no one else can compare to.
Kappa Sigma-(tmashbu1@my.westga.edu) Was chartered at the University of West Georgia on April 2, 1971. Kappa Sigma is the first national fraternity chartered at UWG. Kappa Sigma is based on the four pillars of success: Scholarship, fellowship, leadership, and service. The fraternity was founded in Bologna, Italy in 1400 at the University of Bologna, but in America at the University of Virginia on December 10, 1869. The Lambda-Delta chapter of Kappa Sigma is the winning 2007 Picklesheimer Award winner and the 2007 Greek week champions.
National Panhellenic Council-(aly.chester@gmail.com) Is the governing body of the six sororities at West Georgia. The Panhellenic Council is made up of 8 officers and one delegate from each sorority on campus. The officers and delegates work together to provide a support system for all chapter on campus and help them work together to better serve the campus and the community. Panhellenic organizes programs that enhance Greek Life through scholarship, community service, and leadership development. Panhellenic Council gives women the opportunity to be involved, not just in their individual chapter but also in the entire community.
National Pan-hellenic Council-(smullgr1@my.westga.edu) Is currently composed of nine (9) International Greek letter Sororities and Fraternities: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, NPHC promotes interaction through forums, meetings, and other mediums for the exchange of information and engages in cooperative programming and initiatives through various activities and functions. At UWG the National Pan-hellenic Council is known as NPHC. Currently, NPHC at UWG hosts 6 or the 9 International Greek letter Sororities and Fraternities.

Phi Beta Sigma-(johmarh@gmail.com) Was founded at Howard University in Washington DC on January 9, 1914 by three young African American male students. The Founders, Honorable Charles I Brown, wanted to organize a Greek letter fraternity that would truly exemplify the ideals of Brotherhood, scholarship, and service. The founders deeply wished to create an organization that viewed itself as a part of the general community. With the founding of the Nu Phi Chapter the men of Sigma have strived to attain and cultivate the motto of this great organization, Culture for Service and service for humanity. With the vision of the founders ever vigilant in mind, every member works to better the fraternity and continue its great success.
Phi Delta-(ptomes1@my.westga.edu) Is a co-ed fraternity that promotes and supports all aspects of music. Phi Delta was founded at UWG in 2006. This fraternity purpose is to promote programs and activities that exemplify the love of music in the community. Phi Delta was established in order to give students who love music a chance to meet with one another and exchange ideas, broaden individual outlooks, and to provide support for one another. Members of Phi Delta must demonstrate a love for music and a desire for the advancement of music.

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. focuses on the principles of scholarship, service, sisterly love, and finer womanhood. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity are the only constitutionally bound organizations within NPHC.

Our organization is a special interest organization with a focus of informing the students and faculty of UWG about crime, how it affects our campus and our community at large and about the laws that govern us. We also will strive to bring about awareness and prevention measure in reference to crime. We plan to achieve our goal by holding panel discussions with Criminal Justice Professionals, Politicians, Community Organizers, Professors, Victims of Crime, Mental Health Professionals, and Healthcare Professionals, who will share and take questions from our students in regards to the topic of the panel discussions. We strive to make our campus and community at large aware, prevention savvy, and a safer environment.
