Departmental/Educational

American Chemical Society-(jhite1@my.westga.edu) Promotes educational and professional principles of the scientific community.

Anthropological Society-(hjolly2@my.westga.edu) This organization of undergraduate & graduate students interested in the study of anthropology.  All students are welcome to participate-not just majors and minors.  The Anthropological society holds meetings every other week in the Anthropology building in the research room to discuss topics of anthropological interest and also hosts social activities periodically throughout the academic year.

Art Student Union-(westga.asu@gmail.com) Is to provide unity within the different departments and concentration at the UWG.  We want to empower students and give them a voice within the art department.  We wish to improve leadership skills while encouraging teamwork.  We are involved in campus by supporting other student run organizations as well as the community.  We hope to build each other up as artists by offering exhibitions and networking opportunities as was as social events and art sales for A.S.U members and other students who wish to participate.

Association of Computing Machinery-(cgibson6@my.westga.edu) Activities include combat and hobby robotics, video gaming, socials, and presentations by industry professinals.  

College Girls Rock-(collegegirlsrock.uwg@gmail.com) Represent and consist of intelligent and promising young women.  Together we motivate each other as well as others to pursue post-secondary education.

CS Wow-(achildr1@my.westga.edu) Our mission, as students and faculty at the University of West Georgia, is to increase awareness of and interest in computer science among women both on and off campus.  We provide encouragement and support for women correctly studying or are interested in studying computer science as friends and mentors.

Game Crafts-(game.craftersuwg@gmail.com) The game crafters club is a group dedicated to creating and testing new game development ideas.

Go West Art Ed-(gowestarted@gmail.com) The Art Educators club at West Georgia strives to unite all AA majors interested in art Education.  The club focuses on teaching in the community and preparation for the GACE in art.

Eclectic-(mregier1@my.westga.edu) Is the art and literary magazine for West Georgia students, featuring media from a range of categories.  From poetry to hip hop videos, there is space for an engaging variety of student work. 

Economics Club-(asmith63@westga.edu) Is an organization dedicated to keeping members knowledgeable about the Economic community through local business connections and through education.

EGADS-(pmurphy2@my.westga.edu) Sponsors the annual undergraduate conference in the spring, providing an opportunity for rising English and Philosophy scholars to showcase  their writing and research, as well as for participating graduate students to gain experience in organizing and overseeing academic events.  EGADS also focuses on the academic and professional growth of its members, coordinating faculty-led colloquia on topics ranging from PhD and MFA program applications to academic publishing.  Our members have chosen to sponsor a children’s book drive as our spring community service project.

Finance Club-(jshirle1@my.westga.edu) Is an organization created for the students of the University interested in Finance.  We would like to provide more in depth perspective of finance.  We hope to accomplish this with guest speakers and various activities with students.

Geosciences Club-(ysoria_hill@yahoo.com) We promote continued professional growth in the geoscience by engaging in related activities and fieldtrips.

Honor Council-(mbearde3@my.westga.edu) The student governing body within the Honors College, the Honors Council, controls the budget for all other Honors activities.  Made up of students in official, elected positions, the Honors Council meets once a month; meetings are open to all Honors students.

Management Club-(uwgmanagement@gmail.com) Is an excellent opportunity to meet and network with your peers and business leaders in the community to stay on top of current events that affect managers today, and to show a professional interest in your line of work.

Management Information Systems Club-(Dvincen1@my.westga.edu) The mission of the MIS Club is to encourage professional development and increase exposure of students to the MIS field beyond the classroom.  The MIS Club actively promotes MIS education and acquaints members to IT professionals in the industry.  The MIS Club provides its members with experiences to help them be successful in the IT industry. 

National Student Speech-Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA)-(nsslhaatuwg@gmail.com) At UWG is a pre-professional membership association for undergraduate and graduate students interested in the study of communication sciences and disorders.

Paw2s-(uwgpaw2s@yahoo.com) Is a student lead organization that advocates for victims of domestic violence & sexual assault.

Philosophical Society-(loller1@my.westga.edu) A society that aims to discuss some of the big philosophical questions concerning ethics, and religion.  Any topic is open for discussion.  All students can attend these meetings. 

Physics and Engineering Club-(physics.engineering.uwg@gmail.com) Is an establishment which allows Physics and Engineering students to converse and take part in social events.  This promotes discussion of individual interests and expansion of social networking within the Physics Department.  Students will have the opportunity to visit professional institutions and gain insight in the operations of current research and development.

Pre Nursing Student Association-(pnsa@westga.edu)

Sociological Collective-(klalond1@my.westga.edu) Is a student led organization here at the University of West Georgia for Sociology majors, minors, and any other students interested in the field of Sociology.  The Sociological Collective aims to provide a platform through which students can use tools and skills learned in the classroom to positively affect the community.  The organization also promotes intellectual and professional development, as well as giving its members the opportunity to cultivate their leadership abilities. 

Student Professional Association of GA Educators-(bmoore6008@gmail.com) Is to assist students in examining their career opportunities in their specific field of education, participating in exploratory activities in this filed, and in studying and becoming involved in educational issues.

The West Georgian-(uwgpaper@gmail.com) Is a student organization dedicated to giving student professional experience in the world of journalism-writing, editing, and photography-while also providing the campus and community with local up-to-date happenings. While the West Georgian is a part of the mass communications departments, students affiliated with all majors are welcome to join.

Undergraduate Student National Dental Association-(usnda.uwg@gmail.com) The mission was established in 1970, and it continuously remains to promote, support, and encourage a promising academic and social environment for minority dental students.  We are committed to providing oral hygiene education to all through our outreach efforts, increasing the presence of minorities within dental school and dental education, as well as improving access to care and the delivery of dental services to all people, emphasizing minorities and the underserved.

We Teach West-(cstowe1@my.westga.edu) The purpose for We Teach West is to offer U Teach students with the chance to improve their academic and professional careers with appealing opportunities.  We Teach West opportunities include the following: fundraisers, mentorships in local school systems, social events, community service, and participation in professional conferences.

Alpha Lambda Delta-(uwgald@westga.edu) Founded in 1924 at the University of Illinois, Alpha Lambda Delta has over 250 chapters in the United States.  The mission of Alpha Lambda Delta is to encourage superior academic achievement to promote intelligent living and a high standard of learning, and to assist students in recognizing and developing meaningful goals in society.  When you become a member of this prestigious honor society, we encourage you to maintain academic excellence throughout your college career and offer you the opportunity to develop friendships with other students who have academic interests.

Alpha Psi Omega-(ashelton2@my.westga.edu) Is an honorary theatre society in which we do various volunteer work events around the community to help keep the arts alive.

Beta Beta Beta-(mndukwe1@my.westga.edu) Is a sorority for students dedicated to improving the understanding and appreciation of Biological studies used for students that strived to keep the same common goals and concentration in mind and focus.

Beta Gamma Sigma-(fparsa@westga.edu) The invitation to membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is extended  only to the academically highest 10% of second-semester juniors, 10% of seniors, and 20% of graduates of AACSBI accredited institutions.  It is the highest honor the Richard College of Business can bestow.  Beta Gamma Sigma candidates are presented their invitation in class during the spring semester.  During the presentations ceremony they are congratulated on behalf of the Richard College of Business for their excellent academic achievement and invited to become a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, the national scholastic honor society for outstanding students in accredited college of business.

Gamma Theta Upsilon-(hllewel1@my.westga.edu) Is an international honor society in Geography: To further professional interest in Geography, To strengthen students & professional training through academic experiences, and To encourage members to apply Geographic knowledge & skills in service to human kind.

National Society of Collegiate Scholars-(ac.taylor91@gmail.com) Is an honors organization that recognizes first and second year students in the top 201 of their class (3.5 GPA).  NSCS focus on scholarship, service, leadership, and integrity.

Kappa Delta Pi-(kdpuwg@gmail.com) It is an international honor society for future educators.

Omicron Delta Epsilon-(slord1@my.westga.edu) Honors scholastic attainment and outstanding achievement in Economics.  The University of West Georgia hosts the Delta of Georgia chapter.

Omicron Delta Kappa-(ahinson1@my.westga.edu) Is a national leadership honor society for junior and senior college students, faculty, staff, and alumni that recognizes and encourages superior scholarship, leadership, and exemplary character.  Membership is ODK highest distinction and honor.  The Society recognizes achievement in five areas:  scholarship, athletics, campus/community service, social/religious activities, and campus government, journalism, speech, and the mass media, and creative & performing arts.  The Society’s goal are to recognize the accomplishments of academically sound student leaders and enhance leadership skills and abilities. 

Pi Sigma Alpha-(lulalrhodes@gmail.com) The National Political Science honors fraternity is the only honor society for college students of political science and government in the United States.

Phi Sigma Pi-(nwheat1@my.westga.edu) A national co-ed fraternity that strives to uphold the tripod of scholarship, leadership, and fellowship with a 3.0 GPA minimum, we seek bright and motivated individuals to expand our organization.

Sigma Tau Delta-(uwgsigmataudelta@gmail.com) Is an English Honor Society that commends achievements made in the study of English language and literature at the undergraduate and graduate levels.  We host numerous events that not only strive to recognize scholarly achievement made in English studies but also support our local community.  We are members of Sigma Tau Delta, the international English Honors Society.

Tau Beta Sigma-(iotadeltatbs@gmail.com) Is an honorary Band Sorority that provides service to collegiate band and promotes equality and diversity, including empowering women in the band profession.

International/Cultural

African Student Association-(uwg_asa@gmail.com) Is about removing stereotypes of Africa through cultural displays.  We are providing a friendly environment where Africans congregate in the West Georgia community and welcoming environment for incoming African students.

Amnesty International-(uwgamnestyinternational@gmail.com) The UWG chapter of Amnesty International is both a human rights and an anti-genocide coalition.  Through letter-writing campaigns, documentary screenings, and educational meetings.  We hope to increase awareness of global human rights violations to make a positive impact on the world.

Asian Student Organization-(kphan@my.westga.edu)

International Student Club-(nuzairnuwais@gmail.com) Is an organization consisting of all the international students at the University.  Its main goals and purpose are to learn more about the lifestyle and culture of the United States as well as other countries, to inform other people about various cultures all over the world and to host the annual International Night.  The club is open to all international students as well as any students or faculty members of UWG interested in carrying out its goals and purposes.

Latino Cultural Society-(mmille17@my.westga.edu)  Mission is to share the Latin culture and promote awareness at UWG, as well as Carrollton, about the diverse Latino culture.

NAACP-(Naacpuwg@gmail.com) To ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate racial hatred and racial discrimination.

Political Science Club-(polisciclubwestga@gmail.com) Invites all students who have an interest in Political Science, are POLS majors or minors to join.  We discuss current events and upcoming elections or anything Political.  It’s a great way to meet people with your major or common interest and interact with the teachers.

Young Democrats-(enwakan1@my.westga.edu) Strive to stimulate young adults to become actively interested in government affairs and promote their involvement at all levels of the Democratic Party, to promote the acquisition of political power by young adult, and to foster the ideals and principles of the highest degree of justice and social welfare.  In all these things, we associate ourselves together.

AMA-(uwgama@gmail.com) Is the University of West Georgia collegiate chapter of the American Marketing Association.  AMA is a professional and educational organization who provides opportunities for professional exposure, practical experience, skill development, and gainable knowledge with the purpose of helping students transition from the University of West Georgia to a career in Marketing.

American Medical Student Association-(cjacks20@my.westga.edu) Is an organization to help students whom plan on attending medical school, help pursue their goal.  We try to provide help with networking to local doctors and give tips for taking the MCAT and admitting people to medical school.  We also try to inform the UWG and Carrollton Community about their health & ways to better your body.

Collegiate National Association for Music Education-(lkoch1@my.westga.edu) Provides opportunities to network with music educators, attend workshops, and participate in activities that will get members ready for their career. 

National Broadcasting Society-(NBSUWG@gmail.com) The purpose of the National Broadcasting Society is to enhance the development of college and university students and entry level professional involved in electronic media ( including web/internet technologies and new media), broadcasting, mass communication, radio, television, cable, film and /or electronic media at chapter, district, regional, and national levels by: promoting excellence, providing opportunities for ethical and responsible leadership.

Pre-Law Society-(bberry1@my.westga.edu) Is a student led organization that is open to all students.  The society meets several times each semester sponsors speaker and panel discussions, organizes field trips to law schools, and administers a biannual mock LSAT.  The objective of the Pre-Law Society is to help familiarize prospective laws school students with: the LSAT, the law school admission process, and many aspects of a legal career.  The society is committed to advancing community involvement and encourages fellowship with students, faculty, and members within the legal profession.

Psychology Club-(uwgpsychclub@gmail.com) To help and assist students interested in the field of Psychology with preparation of their future careers.  This club is meant to bring awareness of the many options one can do with a degree in Psychology.  Also help undergraduates with preparing resumes, interviews, and internships.

Apex Airsoft-(uwgairsoft@gmail.com) Is committed to maintaining a team of disciplined safe and well trained players to compete within the Airsoft community.  By combining solid fundamentals with field experience, Apex will excel in ability, sense of team, and success.

Bass Club-(kennyjohnson519@yahoo.com) Will be traveling around to different lakes in the Southeast fishing FLW and Bass Masters sponsored tournament and by winning these tournaments we will advertising for the University and earning scholarship money for ourselves and the University.

Climbing Team-(UWGClimbingClub@gmail.com) Aims to provide the West Georgia community the opportunity to reach great heights through competitive climbing and outdoor experiences.  We know what it takes to make it to the top, so our mission is to educate and provide climbers with the resources to succeed while sharing our love for the ascent.

Club Tennis-(westclubtennis@gmail.com) Is a competitive coed tennis team comprised of University of West Georgia students.  Our purpose is to provide a fun and social environment for undergraduate tennis players.

Cycling Club-(TKamins1@my.westga.edu) This club was founded to promote all forms of competitive and recreational cycling.  It is open to everyone of all fitness levels.

Equestrian Team & Riding Club-(uwgequestrianclub@gmail.com) Was founded to educate members on all aspects of equine management, riding, horsemanship, competition and involvement in the equestrian community.  We have competition team that rides in IHSA and IDA sanctioned shows as well as a club that participates in many local equestrian events and learning opportunities.

Intense Talent-(deannasmith08@yahoo.com) Is a hip hop dance team that encourages new talent to show their moves to their fellow peers.  Dance until your feet can’t move anymore.

Runners Club-(mmcdowe1@my.westga.edu) Is an organization that promotes continual health, community service, and leadership.  Members are given opportunities to reach the community through service activities and recreational events that will motivate and inspire others to achieve their goals.

Ultimate Frisbee Club-(lmartin6@my.westga.edu) Purpose is to engage people in the sport of ultimate while demonstrating good sportsmanship and knowledge of the game.  We look to compete against others on campus and other schools across the state.  We have regular pickup games during the week and all are welcome.  Join our Facebook page for more information.

A Place of Refuge-(kbaile36@gmail.com) Is a Christian organization compiled of students who love Jesus Christ.  Our goal is to spread the love of Jesus Christ and help other college students be productive in every aspect of their lives.

Adventist Christian Ministry-(oduah1@my.westga.edu)

Baptist Collegiate Ministries-(wevans10@gmail.com) Is a Christ-centered student led organization geared toward connecting Christian students and helping them to make a difference in the community around them as they progress scholastically.

Bethel Campus Fellowship-(bcfwestga@gmail.com) Which was inaugurated on Sept. 3, 2005 has grown tremendously and is now very well established in many Colleges in the States of Georgia, North Carolina, Maryland, and Canada.  Because of the grace that God has given to us in touching lives, BCF is determined to plant fellowship centers in all the college in United States and Canada by the year 2050.  BCF places emphasis on the word of God and living by its precepts.  Our motto is get it, Live it and give it.  We challenge members to live like Christ and to love like Jesus did.  Love for one another among members is both an integral part, and a distinguishing feature of BCF.  Our hope and prayer is that God will use this organization to reach out to students on campuses across the nations.

Campus Outreach-(jetress@campusoutreach.org) Is an interdenominational ministry dedicated to Multiplying Christ-Like Leaders at West Georgia.  If you attend any of our events, you will quickly learn that Campus Outreach is a ministry built on relationships.  It is through these life-on-life relationships that college students come to know Christ, mature in their relationships with him, and share their lives and faith with others through evangelism and discipleship.  Want to get involved?  Then come check out our weekly campus meetings at Bonner Lecture Hall every Wednesday at 9pm.

Service Organizations

Advanced Academy Key Club-(ezerabr1@my.westga.edu) The advanced Academy Key Club will provide Academy students with volunteer opportunities on campus as well as in our community.

Alpha Phi Omega-(aphioeh1925@gmail.com) Is a national co-ed service fraternity that has set the standard for college and service since 1925.  We strive to help each member develop leadership skills, experience friendship& provide service to others.

Circle K-(mpayton4@my.westga.edu) A community service organization whose purpose is to serve the children of the world.  Our chapter is involved with community service projects, such as working with the Carroll County Animal Shelter, reading to the kids at Headstart, volunteering at the Carroll County Soup Kitchen.  Circle K is the largest community service organization for college students in the world.  We provide service, leadership, and fellowship opportunities.  There are more than 13,000 Circle K’s from all over the world.  We have imparted our neighborhoods, influenced children, and saved the environment.  Not only does our club benefit the world around us, we also benefit ourselves through lifelong friendships as well as gaining important leadership experience that will help us throughout our futures.

Enactus-(bthomps7@my.westga.edu) Is to bring together top leaders of today and tomorrow to create a better, more sustainable world through the positive power of business.  Students are exposed to a variety of community based projects that use applicable business principles as the foundation.  During each school year, the UWG Enactus team creates and executes various projects and share their project results and experiences at the annual Regional Competition with a possibility of advancing to the annual National Competition.  Students enjoy networking and finding job opportunities with top Fortune 500 companies that partner with the national Enactus organization.

Gamma Sigma Sigma-(etaepsilon1952@gmail.com) Is a national service sorority founded in 1952.  More than fifty-five years later the sorority, continues to make an impact on campuses and communities nationwide.

Knitting and crocheting circle-(kdennis1@my.westga.edu) We will make blankets, hats, scarves, or various items which we will donate to homeless shelters or women shelters.  You can also come to learn to knit or crochet.

Living Strong With Diabetes-(lsd365@yahoo.com) Is a service organization that is devoted to spreading awareness and serving individuals within the community that have been affected by diabetes. 

Relay for Life-(rfl@westga.edu)  Is a nationwide collaboration of college students, faculty, and staff dedicated to eliminating cancer by initiating and supporting programs of the American Cancer Society in college communities.  The mission of the Relay for Life club is to raise money for cancer research and cancer patients, spread cancer awareness, celebrate the lives of survivors, remember those who lost their lives to cancer, and unite a community in the fight against cancer. 

Self Operating Skills-(selfoperatingskills@gmail.com) Is an organization whose purpose  is to teach high school and college level students soft skills in order to help them in life and in their work.  We host workshops and seminars free to students and keep costs as low as possible in order to serve more people.

United Leadership Council-(UnitedLCouncil@gmail.com) The purpose of this organization is to institute a change within the student body and surrounding communities by developing leaders through way of mentoring, community service, and promoting personal wellness.

University Ambassadors-(uwgambassador@gmail.com) Are a volunteer student organization that assists the University of West Georgia office of Admissions with recruitment of prospective students.  Their main duties involve preview day for prospective UWG wolves.  University Ambassadors have a love for UWG and strive to represent their University.

Women of Diversity-(womenofdiversityuwg@yahoo.com) Is an organization built on love, and service.  In addition to service we hold social and educational events.  We want to foster the growth of young women across campus.

Anime Otaku Incorporated-(anime.otaku.inc@gmail.com) Our Mission statement is to share, enhance, and expand student awareness and knowledge of the cultural and social aspect of Anime. Our main focus is to understand the community that has surrounded anime and understand more about the Nations/communities that they are derivative of. Black Student Alliance-(bstroud.uwgbsa@gmail.com) The purpose of the Black Student Alliance is to enhance the multicultural student body through educational events, community outreach, and social programs.  BSA is committed to unifying all students at the University of West Georgia.  

Fashion Forward-(fashionforwarduwg@gmail.com) Will incorporate the aspect that pertain to the fashion industry.  Members will be able to branch off to different departments such as modeling, photography, graphic design, jewelry design, and clothing design.  Fashion Forward will also include the business aspect of fashion such as public relations, marketing, merchandising, blogging, and event coordination.  Our goal in the end is to make the University of West Georgia recognizes that fashion should be included in our list of minors.

Free Verse-(kherrin3@my.westga.edu) Is an on campus organization that holds events where students can express themselves artistically. If you sing, rap, do poetry, are a musician, or artist of any kind you should come and check out Free Verse’s events.

F.I.E. R.C.E-(Iamfiercewestga@gmail.com) The purpose of F.I.E.R.C.E. is to serve as a guide to incoming freshmen women on how to adapt to college life while simultaneously encouraging upper classmen to become leaders on campus and succeed as role models to young women.  Through this, F.I.E.R.C.E shall “Promote the Phenomenal spirit that resides in every woman.”

League of Legends-(fflores1@my.westga.edu) Our purpose as the League of Legends club at the University of West Georgia is to provide an environment where League of Legends players can come together to “queue” together and to talk about different League-related topics and discuss different strategies to help each player in game whether a normal or ranked game.  Want to learn how to play?  We’ll teach you!   We hope to host 3v3 and 5v5 competitions, different tournaments, and have different themed custom games.  Big events to come as the club progresses. Student Activities Council-(uwgsac@westga.edu) Is a student organization whose purpose is to provide co-curricular activities for the West Georgia community.  Our mission is to provide a number of diverse cultural, recreational, social, educational, and entertainment programs, and is implemented through seven program committees.  Together, the chair people and their committee members are responsible for planning and producing a variety of events.  SAC is funded by the student of West Georgia through a portion of their activity fee that is allocated to us.  

The FAME Society-(foundation03@gmail.com) The F.A.M.E. Society where fashion, are, media, and entertainment collide. 

World of Champions-(mspencer3@my.westga.edu) Honors the spirit of competition and community service.  This is where individuals can demonstrate their skills in many type of competition and have the opportunity to win prizes.  The competition areas are sports, video, and gaming.  In the organization an individual’s talent, are exposed as a result of courage, diligence, and teamwork.

Alpha Gamma Delta-(acallah2@my.westga.edu) Is an international women’s fraternity that is devoted to helping women through their college years.  Our philanthropy is the Alpha Gamma Delta foundation which benefits its members as well as diabetes.  Our local philanthropy is the Carroll County Batter Women’s Shelter.

Alpha Phi Alpha-(greglewis1591@gmail.com) Develops leaders, promotes brotherhood and academic excellence, while providing service and advocacy for our communities.

Alpha Tau Omega-(ctripp2@my.westga.edu) Is a social fraternity founded upon Christian principles.  We were the first Nationally incorporated fraternity and we also rank as one of the largest nationally.  ATO always looks for bright aspiring leaders.  ATO is known for being a leadership fraternity.

Alpha Xi Delta (vbeaver1@my.westga.edu) Inspires women to realize their potential through sisterhood, leadership, knowledge, and service.

Chi Omega-(mbarney1@my.westga.edu) The Chi Omega fraternity’s open motto is hellenic culture and Christian ideals.  We dedicate countless hours toward raising money for the make-a-wish foundation.  We were fortunate enough to grant a child’s wish in November.  We also place scholarship as priority.  Which shows by our receipt of the most improved chapter GPA in 2012.

Delta Chi-(cstewart6@my.westga.edu) Was founded October 13, 1890 at Cornell University. Since then Delta Chi has charters over 150 chapters across the United States.  The West Georgia chapter was charted April 30th 2005.  We promote a sturdy educational foundation and believe that great advantages are derived from a brotherhood of college and university men.

Delta Delta Delta-(emilykayex3@gmail.com) Is one of the biggest steps in the growth of a young woman.  Delta Delta Delta is dedicated to providing women the support and encouragement they need to succeed in life.  Personal growth, friendship, and guidance represent the backbone of Tri-Delta.  Through community service projects, scholarship programs, tutoring programs, and social events, Tri-Delta inspires its members toward strong womanly character.

Panhellenic Council-(cray5@my.westga.edu) Is the governing body of the seven sororities at West Georgia.  The panhellenic council is made up of seven officers and one to two delegates from each sorority.  The officers and the delegates work together to provide a support system chapter on campus and help them work together to better serve the campus and the community.  The Panhellenic Council gives women the opportunity to be involved, not only in their own chapter but also in the entire community.

Achievers-(hperkin1@hotmail.com) Is an organization or students whose lives are impacted by physical disabilities.  The purpose of this group is to provide, social, leadership and advocacy opportunities for its members.  This group is active in changing the perception of people with disabilities and improving campus experience for all students whose lives are impacted with disabilities.  We are sponsored by the University of West Georgia Disability services/ Counseling and Career Development, located in Row Hall.  

Achieving Incredible Milestones-(erichar2@my.westga.edu) Is great for new and continuing students who have earned the HOPE Scholarship or hope to earn the HOPE Scholarship.  Each A.I.M. mentor can help you maintain or regain your scholarship by providing academic guidance resources and supports.

Active Minds-(christen_benson@yahoo.com) Is to destigmatize mental health disorders by promoting open, enlightened discussion of mental health and to create a better life for all who suffer.

BABEL-(babel.uwg@gmail.com) Is a special interest organization that focuses on dying and endangered languages and the challenges they face.  In addition to this, the group also looks into conservation and recovery methods for many of these endangered languages.

Black Men Encouraging Success Today-(mwise2@my.westga.edu) B.E.S.T is a young and growing student organization whose purpose is to instill in African American Males a greater chance of becoming successful in college and in life.  We hope to improve the chances of success for African American Males on the university level by encouraging them towards success in the educational process, sharing with them collective life’s experiences, imparting in them a system of values and ethics, and exposing them to a world beyond their immediate communities.

FReightU-(rsheale1@my.westga.edu) Is to be described as a “Urban Group”.  We want to bring together all different kinds of art that people, especially young people use today to express themselves.  Whether it be through music, painting, poetry, filming, or product/fashion designing, we see it all as a type of art.  The goal is to provide a platform for each individual art as well as showing how they all work together.

Kaleid-aScope-(kaleid.ascope.uwg@gmail.com) Is an organization that strives to collide the dreams of creative minds, by telling stories through film, plays, and pure entertainment.  Every form of expression is original and motivation for humanity.  Our goal is to bring our campus together and inspire them to do the same as they enter the real world.

Lambda-(lambda@westga.edu) UWG Gay-Straight Alliance serves as an activist and social organization for the LGBTQ community at West Georgia and the local area.  We aim to create a safe space at UWG, free of judgment.  Lambda is a safe and confidential place to come out, and we welcome all individuals regardless of gender identity or orientation.  Lambda seeks to address many issues including changing the notion that people can be defined by the labels we put on them.

Love Not Litter-(lovenotlitter3@gmail.com) Seeks to foster environmental responsibility.  We hold weekly “litter lugs” to help clean up the community and raise awareness.

Natural and Free-(naturalandfree.uwg@gmail.com) Is a special interest group for men and women who have decided (or are thinking of) wearing their hair in its natural growing state.  The purpose of this group is to create a welcoming, fun, and inspirational environment for both men and women.

Not for Sale Student Abolition-(mallbri@my.westga.edu) Is a team of student abolitions who seek to end human trafficking.  Our primary focus is to reduce labor and sex trafficking locally, domestically, and internationally.  We promote awareness and take direct solution based action.  We are representatives of the million current slaves in the world.

Paranalysis-(paranalysisuwg@gmail.com) Is a research and investigative organization concerned with Psi as well as subjects and experiences considered to be anomalous, exceptional, or paranormal.  We are dedicated to delving into the aspects of humanity that are otherwise not accepted by mainstream science and society but are undeniably part of the human experience in whatever capacity that may be.  We focus primarily on laboratory and field research, case studies, and discussion.  Members are a collaborative mix of believers, skeptics, and those who fall somewhere in between.

Phatal Atraktion-(sramber1@gmail.com)  The UWG hip hop dance team that entertains through the art of dance and performing in several venues all over campus.

Precision Step Team-(precisionstepteam@gmail.com) Is new to the University of West Georgia.  As a team we strongly believe in unity, leadership and striving for success.  We express ourselves through rhythmic movement, powerful beats, and intense facial expressions.  It is our responsibility to entertain our fellow peers and share the art of African culture through our steps.  It’s not just stepping, it’s stepping up!!

The Creative Writing Guild-(skey1@my.westga.edu) Serves students interested in creative writing by promoting opportunities for writing, editing, and presenting.

Student Veterans Association-(mikaylalarsen@yahoo.com) Is to provide a social group and support structure to help Veterans adjust to, and become successful in college life.  The SVA also work to raise awareness of Veterans issues and need to the campus community and to the University of West Georgia administration to provide information to Veterans about their particular benefits, policies & procedures to encourage Veterans to become active in the campus life.
