Material Safety Data Sheets

A Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) is a document prepared by chemical manufactures which contain information and instructions on a chemical product’s physical characteristics, its hazard and safety risks, safe handling requirements including disposal, and the actions to be taken in the event of fire, spill or exposure.

In accordance with Georgia State law under the Right to Know (RTK) Act, an employer must maintain an MSDS for each chemical used by their employees.  Employers must also ensure MSDS are accessible to employees at all times.
