Letter from the Chair

Welcome to the University of West Georgia Foundation! We hope you will consider a gift to support scholarship, research, athletics, arts or advancement for our students and faculty. The Foundation was formed in 1967 in order to provide a vehicle for tax deductible donations, grants and legacy gifts to support our growing institution.  We have over forty professional, learned advocates of oversight on our Board of Trustees from varied fields of expertise. Each one is passionate and principled in their service.

Our current endowment stands at over $21 million and foundation total assets are over $89 million. We are grateful for those gifts and efforts to achieve them. However, these funds are not near enough to meet the needs associated with attracting and retaining the caliber of students and faculty that we have and desire.  Many universities our size have an endowment of over $100 million. You can rest assured our assets are managed by capable advisors who last year returned a rate of 11.3% after expenses on our endowment.

So, “Go West” with your gifts of cash, securities, real estate and bequests. Let us continue to grow our great university in wisdom, stature and strength!

Best,
