Environmental Studies
What is Environmental Studies?
The Environmental Studies degree focuses on the many ways in which environmental issues have become a multifaceted and contested social problem in contemporary society. Students will be prepared for positions in non-governmental organizations and foundations, public relations, planning, citizen-based community organizations and education groups, and non-profit, consulting and advocacy groups. It is also designed to prepare students to enter graduate or law school. Students will study social problems and social inequality, land/resource use and planning, impact and risk assessment in a cultural context, health and environmental policy, the environmental justice movement, social change, conflict resolution, and lobbying and advocacy.
