How to Apply for Aid

Applying for financial aid can often be confusing, especially the first time around. So we've come up with a step-by-step checklist that will help you along the way. Be aware that the entire financial aid process can take two to three months to complete.  Although you must first be admitted to UWG to be offered financial aid, you can begin the financial aid process while completing the admission process.

Federal Aid

A student interested in federal financial aid (loans, grants) must complete the FAFSA- Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Continue

State Aid

A student interested in the HOPE scholarship or other State scholarships (such as Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship) must complete the GSFAPPS.  The GSFAPPS is a one time only application and does not have to be renewed each year.  Continue

Scholarships
