Tien Lee
2007-2008 ACE Award Recipient
This award is given to the minority Junior with the highest grade point averages.
Tien tell us a little about yourself: Well, my name is Tien, but typically I go by the name Debbie. I am originally from Taiwan, but I currently live in Duluth. My family moved to Georgia when I was in the fourth grade. I was so excited to visit new places like Disney World. I’ve been three times since we have moved!
Okay Debbie, as an award recipient we know that you are excelling academically, but in what ways has UWG helped you to achieve?: UWG is a great school; it offers students a chance to know the professor beyond the classroom lecture level. West Georgia has offered me the opportunity to achieve in my field of study by allowing me to become closely acquainted with many of the nursing professors in the learning program. I am quite grateful to my professors who have helped me throughout my two years here at UWG.
When you’re not in class, what can you usually be found doing?:Well, I like to learn new things, especially instruments. I like cooking, playing sports, working out, and watching movies. Although I love my social time, the majority of my time is usually spent studying.
Okay Debbie, here is your chance to speak out; do you have any final remarks?:I am very grateful that the Multicultural Achievement Program chose me as an award recipient and quite surprised as well. The University of West Georgia is a great foundation place to help set the basis for things that I want to achieve later on in life.
