MAP Student Spotlight
Kendra Parker
2007-2008 ACE Award Recipient
This award is given to the minority Senior with the highest grade point averages.
Kendra tell us a little about your campus involvement: I have worked for the Department of Residence Life for three years as a Student Academic Mentor, a Resident Assistant, and now as a Resident Director.
You will graduate this semester from UWG, what can you say about your tenure here? My experience here at UWG has been one of chaos and delight; I've helped build traditions, and I've created memories that will last a lifetime. These past four years are truly irreplaceable, and though I'm looking forward to graduation, my departure from UWG will be bittersweet.
Speaking of graduation, what are your plans for the future? Currently, I am seeking my BA in English, and within the next 7 years, I would like to be a PhD candidate at Howard University. After that, I’m not so sure. I’m trying to take things one day at a time.
In life what do you find important? There are so many things that I value like God, family and friends, but there are also a number of things that I enjoy doing in my free time like playing soccer, scrap booking, speaking Spanish, and writing.
Alright Ms. Parker, your interview is almost over, any last words? I guess I will end on a very special quote that I live by, “It is in hoping that we dream, in dreaming that we seek, and in seeking that we find out life’s desire.” I am really excited to be chosen as an award recipient. Thank you!!
