Deadlines & Review
The verification process requires that information from the student’s application be compared with copies of the student’s, spouse’s (if married) and parent’s (if dependent) federal tax form, or financial documents. Other documentation may be required as it applies to the information on the FAFSA. Notification to students is sent via e-mail (MyUWG email account) stating that there are outstanding requirements. In BanWeb under the My Eligibilty menu, document requirements and the verificationstaus will be posted.
All required documents should be submitted to the Financial Aid Office no later than 10 business days from the initial date of request. Delay in submitting all required documents will cause a delay in awarding of financial aid. Also, it could result in the student needing to pay all of or part of their bill until awarding takes place.
You are reccommended to apply for aid and complete the verification process before the term has ended. Otherwise, you could be in jeopardy of not receiving any Federal aid for your expected term of enrollment. Students who have not completed the verification process within the required period will receive a letter of explanation.
