Applying as a Graduate Student
Step 1:
- Complete and submit the FAFSA. Be sure to include UWG’s school code: 001601
Step 2:
- After submitting the FAFSA (within 5 - 7 business days), log in to BanWeb, then click:
- Student Services & Financial Aid
- Financial Aid
- My Eligibility
- Eligibility Requirements for Aid Year
- Select Aid Year
Step 3:
- Submit the documentation requested to the Office of Financial Aid. (If no documents are listed, there is nothing being requested at that time.)
Step 4:
- After all documentation has been submitted and processed, if you are eligible, an award will be placed on your account. You will need to log in to BanWeb then click:
- Student Services & Financial Aid
- Financial Aid
- My Award Information
- Award by Aid Year
- Select Aid Year
- Accept Award Offer
Step 5:
- Complete an Entrance Counseling Session by logging in to BanWeb then click:

- Student Services & Financial Aid
- Financial Aid
- Loan Entrance Counseling Session
(If your BanWeb indicates that you have already completed an Entrance Counseling Session, you can move to Step 6)
Step 6:
- Within 24 – 48 hours of accepting award offer, you will need to sign a Master Promissory Note by following the instructions below: (This is only required if you have not signed an MPN for federal loans in the past 10 years.)
- Go to http://www.studentloans.gov/
- Sign in using your U.S. Department of Education PIN (used to electronically sign the FAFSA)
- Complete New Master Promissory Note
- Subsidized/Unsubsidized Loans
