30th Annual Interdisciplinary Conference in the Humanities on: Travel

The University of West Georgia's 30th Annual Interdisciplinary Conference in the Humanities will be held October 8-10, 2015 on the University of West Georgia campus in Carrollton, Georgia. KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Dr. David T. Gies, Commonwealth Professor of Spanish at the University of Virginia, is an expert on the literature of Enlightenment and Romantic Spain, and contemporary film studies. He has authored more than fifteen books and critical editions of Spanish literature, more than one hundred articles, and has lectured in the US, Canada, England, Italy, Germany, France, Argentina and Spain.  He edits Dieciocho, a journal dedicated to the study of Spanish Enlightenment, and currently serves as President of the Asociación Internacional de Hispanistas (AIH) for the triennium 2013-2016.  

In his talk titled "Go Away!" Dr. Gies will speak to us about the Eighteenth Centuries (plural) as a space for travel and travel reflection.
