29th Annual Interdisciplinary Conference in the Humanities: Worlds and Words

The University of West Georgia's 29th Annual Interdisciplinary Conference in the Humanities will be held October 30-November 1, 2014 on the University of West Georgia campus in Carrollton, Georgia. The topic for this year's conference is Worlds and Words, and the deadline for submission of abstracts was July 22, 2014. Find the CFP here.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS:  Marine biologist James McClintockand poet Adam Vines, both from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, will deliver this year's keynote address. McClintock is a world-renowned scientist and activist who works primarily with Antarctica. Vines assisted him in editing his last book Lost Antarctica (2012 Macmillan) and traveled there with him last fall. They will speak about the ways in which art and science can combine to form powerful social and political tools.
