The Globalization Learning Community is organized for students interested in the economic, political, social, and cultural transformations brought about by globalization. We will take a hands-on approach to learning about how global supply chains are involved in the production of commonly used consumer products such as blue jeans, cars and gasoline. We will also explore how the forces associated with globalization are challenging the primacy of the nation-state. And, importantly, we will discuss how these changes will affect the professions for which you are currently preparing.
For which students?
These Learning Communities are particularly well-suited for students interested in developing an understanding of globalization. Because of its broad focus, this is a learning community that will be of interests to students contemplating further study in the arts, humanities, social science, and natural sciences.
