African American Women

The African-American Women Learning Community helps African-American female students adjust academically and socially to college life by grouping first-year women with a similar interest into a set of common courses. The students live and attend class together for an entire academic year. The merging of academic life and social structure allows students to make friends quickly, establish study groups, and help each other through the first year of college. In addition, Learning Community students receive individualized mentoring, develop a relationship with faculty members, and receive early advising and registration during the fall semester. All students in this learning community share the same course schedule.
