Making Decisions

Description

Did you know that the largest major for first year students is "undecided?" That most students change their major more than once during their first two years of college? That most students are unsure what kind of career they'd like when they graduate?

If this describes you, you're not alone! College offers numerous opportunities to explore new topics that you've never tried before, but sometimes it can be hard to know what's out there. Would you like some additional guidance on how to make important decisions in other areas of your life? The Making Decisions Learning Community offers that opportunity. Within a small, classroom-based learning environment, students will address many of the following important questions:

  • What are my core values and how can I find a career that aligns with them?
  • What majors are available and how do I find out more?
  • What are my strengths and can I use them to succeed in college?
  • What does college expect of me and how do I get the most out of college?

For Which Students?

The Making Decisions Learning Community is especially appropriate for first-year students who have not yet decided on a major or for students who know their major but are unsure about their career path. All courses in this community count toward graduation requirements for any major.
