The purpose of the Office of Institutional Diversity (O.I.D.) is to foster an understanding of, and appreciation for, cultural diversity. The O.I.D. sponsors a host of programs including the Multicultural Festival; Black, Hispanic, Native American, and Women's months celebrations; a "Controversies of Culture" series; a "Conversations about Culture" series; a "Multicultural Book Discussion" series; and an annual campus wide MLK, Jr. celebration. The O.I.D. houses Multicultural and Black Culture Centers, a small computer lab, and some DVD, VCR, book, magazine, and newspaper resources. The O.I.D. collaborates with and co-sponsors a number of programs with academic departments and various other campus units and student organizations. The African American Male Initiative program is also advised through the O.I.D.
