Liz Butts, MS, MEd, Certified Wellness Practitioner
Liz Butts joins Health Services as the Health & Wellness Promotion Coordinator after holding a lecturer position in the University of West Georgia, College of Education for seven years. Primarily, Liz has taught Personal Wellness courses as well as in the area of teacher preparation for Health and Physical Education/Physical Activity. Liz has over nineteen years of education experience including teaching, administration, and school counseling. Upon completion of her Masters of Science in Health & Physical Education from Baylor University, Liz was the Campus Wellness Director at Baylor University where she coordinated both student and faculty/staff wellness initiatives and programs. In addition to the Masters from Baylor, Liz holds an undergraduate degree from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas and a Masters in School Counseling from the University of South Alabama. Liz is committed to the mission of UWG wellness collaboration and has a passion for working with college-age students by helping them reach their personal potential through wellness balance and positive lifestyle choices. Liz is married to Dr. Frank Butts, Chair of the Leadership & Instruction Department in the College of Education. Liz and Frank have two grown children.
