WIGS members teach classes around campus focusing on Domestic Violence. WIGS is composed of women that attend the University of West Georgia.
1 in 4
"1 in 4" is a volunteer student (men) organization that began at the University of West Georgia in 2003. It is their philosophy while other programs often cast men as potential/probable perpetrators; we prefer to address men as potential advocates. Too often, rape education is directed toward women. This not only leaves men uneducated, it implies that women are responsible for stopping sexual misconduct. It is our philosophy that sexual violence is not merely a woman's problem; rather it is a societal issue. We seek to empower men to take a stand against sexual aggression.
WIGS
"WIGS" (Women's Interest Group) is a volunteer student (women) organization that began during the 2008-2009 school year at the University of West Georgia. Their focus is to inform the women at West Georgia about Domestic Violence, why/how it happens, and how to get help if you get in a situation involving domestic violence. They want to inform the women about this problem so that if they have to face it, they can survive and get out of this problem successful.
