Wednesday, September 10

8:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. - Homecoming Pageant
Campus Center Ballroom

The Homecoming Pageant is where all of the Homecoming Court Candidates are introduced and the top 10 women and top 10 men are revealed and have to answer a question on stage.  There is entertainment during the judges deliberation and then the Homecoming Court is announced and brought up on stage.  To find out the Homecoming King and Queen, attend the Football Game and at the half-time show the Homecoming King and Queen are announced and crowned!

If your Greek or registered student organization, athletic team, or residence hall/floor would like to enter a candidate for Homecoming King or Queen, refer to the 2014 Homecoming Packet for the process and the entry form.  All entry forms must be turned in to the Center for Student Involvement by Thursday, August 28 at 5:00pm.

Monday, September 15

5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. - Homecoming Kick-Off Dinner
Campus Center Ballroom

Help us kick off Homecoming Week 2014 with a big party at the Campus Center! 

The Homecoming Kick-Off Dinner will have entertainment, games, and most importantly, FREE FOOD! 

Doors open to the Ballroom at 5:00pm. 

Sponsored by the UWG Student Activities Council.

Tuesday, September 16

12 noon - Homecoming Banner Contest
Outside the UCC

Organizations have a chance to show their artistic talents at the Homecoming game in the banner contest. Get your organization's artists together to make a banner to show your Homecoming spirit. Banners will be judged Tuesday, September 16 at 12 noon in front of the University Community Center (UCC) at Noon. The banner entries will be judged on spirit, originality, creativity, and artistic talent.

If your Greek or registered student organization, athletic team, or residence hall/floor would like to enter the Banner Contest, refer to the 2014 Homecoming Packet for the process and the entry form. All entry forms must be turned in to the Center for Student Involvement by Thursday, August 28 at 5:00pm.

Wednesday, September 17

12 noon-3:00 p.m. - Wear Red, Get Fed
Campus Center Patio

Come to the Campus Center Patio and show your Homecoming week support by wearing West Georgia red!

Then, we'll feed you! Simple as that!

Get your grub on with concession style food until it runs out!  Enjoy music and other activities and have a chance to win one of multiple homecoming t-shirts!

Thursday, September 18

12 noon - Sidewalk Chalk Contest
Outside the UCC

All groups are eligible to participate in this category and are urged to be as creative as possible in depicting the Homecoming theme. The contest will be judged on Thursday, September 18 at 12 noon in front of the University Community Center (UCC). The sidewalk entries will be judged on representation of the theme, creativity, originality, and spirit.

If your Greek or registered student organization, athletic team, or residence hall/floor would like to enter the Sidewalk Chalk Contest, refer to the 2014 Homecoming Packet for the process and the entry form. 7:00-9:00 p.m. - Speaker Series: Values - A Discussion in Leadership
Townsend Center for the Performing Arts

You are cordially invited to a speaker series exploring UWG's values through the lens of community and corporate leaders.

10:00 a.m. - Investiture Ceremony for the 7th President of the University of West Georgia, Dr. Kyle Marrero
The Coliseum

Join us for the official investiture ceremony inaugurating Dr. Kyle Marrero as the seventh president of the University of West Georgia.

The event is free and open to the public.  The attire is business professional.

An open reception will take place on the lawn in front of the Coliseum immediately following the ceremony.

1:30 p.m.-4:00 p.m. - Campus Tours
Starting at the University Bookstore

Take in the beauty of the ever-growing campus of West Georgia by going on a walking tour led by our own UWG Ambassadors and Blue Coats.

Tours will be conducted by shuttle and will begin and end at the University Bookstore.

5:00 p.m. - Unveiling & Dedication of the Bronze Wolf
Wolf Plaza, UWG Athletic Complex (behind the student zone of University Stadium)

Join us at the brand new Wolves Plaza behind the student section at University Stadium for the unveiling and dedication of the new bronze wolf statue. 

This statue will serve as a pinnacle for a new tradition in Wolves athletics.

This event is free and open to the public.

6:00 p.m. - UWG Inaugural Presidential 5K Run
Begins at Z-6 Parking Lot, Ends at Adamson Square

Connecting campus to community, this 5K run will begin at the Z-6 parking lot and end at the AMP near Adamson Square by way of the new Carrollton Greenbelt section through the university's campus.  The awards ceremony will be immediately following at the Adamson Square AMP.

All proceeds for this event will benefit the Friends of the Carrollton Greenbelt fund.

Students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the community are invited to attend the university's largest gear-up celebration for Homecoming Day!

Have dinner at a restaurant on the Square and then join us at the AMP for the Pep Rally followed by a concert!

UWG Athletic Complex

Bring your tents, music, coolers, and food and celebrate with others before the game at the Homecoming game tailgate!

Wear your Wolves gear to show support for the team and check out other tailgates throughout the UWG Athletic Complex.

Please take note of the university's Tailgating Policies and Procedures prior to Homecoming to be aware of any regulations for your particular tailgate. 

9:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m. - Campus Walking Tours
Technology-enhanced Learning Center (TLC), across from the new UWG Bookstoore

Take in the beauty of the ever-growing campus of West Georgia by going on a walking tour led by our own UWG Ambassadors.

Tours will be conducted every 30 minutes from 9:00 a.m.- 1:30 p.m., starting at the Technology-Enhanced Learning Center (TLC).

9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m. - President's Breakfast & Alumni Association Annual Meeting
The Coliseum Atrium

Alumni and friends gather at The Coliseum Atrium for a pancake breakfast with the university's president, Dr. Kyle Marrero and attend the annual meeting of the UWG Alumni Association.

Viewing stands will be available outside the The Coliseum to guests who would like to watch the parade after breakfast. The parade is scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m.

10:00 a.m. - Homecoming Parade
Maple Street & West Georgia Drive

The annual Homecoming Parade features Greek and student organizations, residence halls, athletic teams, local businesses, and more showing off their school spirit based around the Homecoming theme!

Alumni are invited to gather outside The Coliseum after the President's Breakfast and Annual Meeting to watch the parade.  Alumni attending the Class of 1964 Brunch at the Martha Munro Acting Studio (former Rural Arts building) are invited to gather on the front campus lawn along Maple Street.  Parking will be available along Front Campus Drive.  Arrive early to avoid parade congestion.

The route will begin at the east entrance of campus on the corner of West Georgia Drive and Maple Street and go to the Greek Village on the north side of campus.Visit our Parade Route page for a map of the route and specific road closures to be aware of.

11:00 a.m. - Class of 1964 Golden Reunion & Classes of 1933-1963 Celebration
Martha Munro Acting Studio (former Rural Arts building)

The Class of 1964 will gather be inducted into the Golden Alumni Society at the Martha Munro Acting Studio (former Rural Arts building) at 11:00 a.m. to celebrate their 50th year since graduating from West Georgia. Classes of 1933-1963 are invited to help celebrate this special occasion.

There will be no formal program, but each 1964 classmate will be given a commemorative medallion inducting you into the Golden Alumni Society.

Cost is $10 per person.  Classmates and guests may park on Front Campus Drive and shuttle service will be provided to the building.  To register for this alumni event, click here.

11:30 a.m. - Alumni Association Tailgate
UWG Athletic Complex

Attention: UWG Alumni and Friends: Look for the red alumni tent to enjoy a complimentary meal with all the fixings and have the chance to catch up with old friends, staff, and current students.

Help us celebrate the classes of 1964 and 1989 reunions starting at 11:30 a.m.!

Games, prizes, and alumni gear will be given to guests and encourage your alumni friends to stop by and visit.

2:00 p.m. - West Georgia Wolves vs. Johnson C. Smith Golden Bulls
University Stadium

Homecoming culminates with your West Georgia Wolves taking on the Johnson C. Smith Golden Bulls at University Stadium!

The Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned during the halftime show and make sure to stay through the game to hear the overall Homecoming Spirit Competition winners announced!  A full list of winners will be available on Center for Student Involvement website following Homecoming.

7:00 p.m. - Scholarship Gala and Dinner
Campus Center Ballroom

Serving as the culmination of Dr. Marrero's inauguration, this event will serve as a fundraiser for student scholarships through the UWG Foundation.
