"Unpack the Pack" is a volunteer program which encompasses volunteers from the Carrollton community, University of West Georgia campus partners and student organizations.
Move-in day can be stressful for new students and their families, but our volunteers strive to make the transition as smooth as possible. Unpack the Pack volunteers exemplify the strong community that new students can look forward to joining at West Georgia. Unpack the Pack volunteers make a great first impression on our incoming students and their families.
What can I expect as an Unpack the Pack Volunteer?
Unpack the Pack volunteers have several responsibilities that keep move-in day running smoothly. The most important responsibility is greeting students and their families as they come on campus. Volunteers should be friendly, energetic, and willing to answer questions from incoming students. Volunteers will also help students move their belongings into residence halls, direct traffic, help with transportation, pick up and drop off ice and water, direct recyclable items to specified drops, and assist staff members with other move-in day responsibilities. Each volunteer will receive a free t-shirt and a meal voucher valid after their shift.
