UWG Serves USA
Summer time is here and that means lemonade, vacations and parades. The Peoples' Parade, Carrollton's Fourth of July Parade, will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 4.
Each year the University of West Georgia participates in the Fourth of July Parade with a UWG float and plenty of campus participants marching alongside of it. This year is no exception. Thousands of red, white and blue tissue paper squares and several days of hard work will go into pomping the UWG float with a theme of "UWG Serves USA," a tribute to all veterans who are friends of the university.
A special invitation is extended to those who have served their country to come out and be honored by riding on the UWG float. Everyone is invited to march with UWG faculty, staff and students to celebrate the holiday.
Line up begins at 9:30 a few blocks from the Dairy Queen on Highway 27 and tee shirts will be given to everyone walking with the UWG float. Pomping will be held on Monday, July 2, beginning at 3 p.m. in Plant Operations near Z-6.
Each year, the UWG community marches in the Christmas Parade, the Martin Luther King Jr. Parade and the Peoples’ Parade. Come join the fun and honor the veterans who have given this country so much.
