The CAAMRSL opened in 2005 to develop and implement programs that help African American males make a successful transition to post-secondary institutions. In addition to the lecture series, the center sponsors five university institutions: the W.E.B Dubois Academic Institute, the Benjamin E. Mays Faculty/Student Luncheon, the Black Males With Initiative Program, the Bayard Rustin Community Service Program and the African American Male Learning Community.
