Congrats Fall 2007 Grads

The morning ceremony began at 9 a.m. with undergraduate students from the College of Arts and Sciences. Nathalie Paguaga of Honduras, Paul Tullis of Carrollton and Ayan Ahmed of Lawrenceville were guest speakers.

For the first time in the history of the university’s Newnan Center, a satellite campus in the city of Newnan, there will be a graduating class walking down the aisle. Twenty six students will graduate from the UWG nursing program, a four-year, bachelor’s program that is based on the Newnan campus. The following ceremony for undergraduate students from the Richards College of Business and the College of Education began at noon. Mary Kimberly Holder of Cedartown and Amanda Arnold of Senoia were guest speakers for the Richards College of Business. Mary June Bishop of Senoia and Retha Michelle Blair of Carrollton were guest speakers representing the College of Education.

The last ceremony of the day began at 3 p.m. with Graduate School students. Carly Tuggle of Bremen was a guest speaker for the College of Education; Dale Abernathy Howard of Carrollton was the guest speaker for the College of Arts and Sciences and Dawn Cook of Carrollton spoke on behalf of the Richards College of Business.

Receiving a Doctor of Education degree were Reagan Biwott of Marietta; Robert D. McLeod of Dallas; Scott D. Phillipps of Dallas and Jo Ann Rouse of Fayetteville.

Faculty advisors for the graduate students were Dr. M. Angela Coleman, assistant professor of educational leadership and professional Studies; Drs. Cher Hendricks and Abbot Packard, associate professors of education research; Dr. Myrna Gantner, associate professor of educational leadership and Dr. Marie Holbein, professor of elementary education.
