House on stilts, MalaysiaThe University of West Georgia will celebrate the work of two faculty members with “Living Between the New and the Old: Images from Southeast Asia,” a photo and journal exhibit that opens with a reception on Thursday, Dec. 7, at 5 p.m. in the Main Gallery of the Humanities Building.

Sangwon Sohn, associate professor of art, and Dr. Randy Hendricks, professor of English, will share their summer experiences in Singapore and Malaysia with recollections from a journal by Hendricks and a photography exhibit by Sohn. Dr. Thomas J. Hynes, acting president of UWG, will preside over the opening of the exhibit.

Buddhist Temple, SingaporeThe show will close in the Main Gallery on Dec. 16 and reopen Dec. 18 at Gallery Row in Adamson Square in the historic district of Carrollton.

Sohn and Hendricks received a Fulbright-Hays seminar/travel grant to travel throughout southeast Asia with other educators last summer. Photos and readings include time spent in historic and cultural sites in Malacca, Kuching, Kota Kinabalu, Penang and Kuala Lumpur.
